Kabool hai :hehe:

I have always been a fan of Raj Kapoor, to me he is a bigger icon than Amitabh Bachan, but I know alot of Indians would disagree on that, but I really like Raj Kapoor and his films, as they are a little different that Amitabhs, even though Amitabh himself is a living legend. My dad is a big RaJ kapoor fan, and I remember there was this RK festival on Sony TV that showed ALL the Raj Kapoor films one by one and since we had one tv at that time I had to see them all ;), and thats when I saw the genius behind RK. He also transformed Bollywood by making the movie ‘bobby’ with all the lavish and colorful sets. I have heard that RK was also responsible for giving chances to alot of unknown singers, who then went on to become very famous. He died while receiving an award, and his legacy was carried out by his family… Long Live the RK dynasty!

Aap dono ko meri mubarak. When is the party? I’ll keep checking my PM Inbox for the invitation.

My initials are also RK. Thank you for blessing my coming generations.

Raj Kapoor has to be the best actor Bollywood ever had, and probably ever will. Big B, became big because of his action movies (personally I think). At least Raj knew how to be sendimental.

He didn't have to have the "special" looks to get him far. He was a simple man, who made it very high.

My favorite movie, had to be "Awara". Although the lowest point of his career must have been the reviews of "Mera Naam Joker". To me that movie was very emotional, and unfortunately his heart became broken, exactly the same way the heart shattered in the movie.

Mera joota hai Japani
Ye pataloon hai inglistani
Sar pe lal topi roosi
Par bhi dil hai ..... (well you know!)

Exactly... Do you know why Mera Naam Joker wasnt a huge success, like RK imagined it would be? Did it have something to do with the fact that he was pretty old in that movie? Kher, it was an awesome movie and had the power to get everyone crying...

Also, the song 'jeena yahaan, marna yahaan' was so sad, yet so awesome!

Mera Naam Joker definitely one of the most sadist movies I have ever watched. He was great. He certainly is great.

I also admire, Dilip Kumar.
Anyways, some of my all time favourite movies are...

Sangam
Saudagar
Loha
Yudh
Karma
Coolie
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (never get tired of it)
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Dil Chahta Hai
K3G
Mohabbatein

Thats all i can think of now :D

namaste..

aap sub pyaarey behnay bhaiyoon ka bohut bohut dhanewaad. Aur aaney wali ravi-waar, curry-waar aur moong-phalli waar tak iss thread mein bharpoor swaagath rahey ga.

hamara aap sub ki choices par poora vishwas hai, magar pradhaan-mantri Diablay-Lal ko shunye shunye chinta ho rahi hai ke some posts are actually making sense. This was not meant to be. We are supposed to be discusing the more finer elements of the magic that is bollywood. That is, why have such award-winning films as LAPD, NYSE not been selected as worthy enough to be exhanging hands over the weekends at desi households. These are the art films we are concerned about at the Philum bureau.

best regards,
ur flippin' pradhaan mantri.

baaki sub shaanth hai.

:)

say it two more times then we will be able rukhsat you to india with your hubby Asif_k
