^ long live Malala versus tyrant taleban.
Re: All things Malala Yousafzai
In 2009, the support of Pakistani people was behind sufi Muhammad’s initiative of peace. The government caved in to the demands of taleban. As a result the militants started moving towards other places. The army had to seek permission from taleban to pass through swat and in some cases they imprisoned some soldiers as they didn’t seek permission. That was the beginning of Pakistan converting into a banana republic. Every one was looking towards sufi Muhammad’s speech as he had promised convincing militants to law down arms but that didn’t happen.

Re: All things Malala Yousafzai
She has no hesitance in condemning the TTP who I believe she knows about as much as you or I ... She just happens to live in the area - they are no angels, but they are not irrational animals either ... her speech about them is exaggerated and unbalanced, it comes from her father mostly and she is portraying how good she is coupled with her young age to make us believe that nothing but the truth is coming from her ... But we all know the truth is more complicated than that ... There is no black and white in this situation. TTP are a reactionary group ... they will settle if they are unprovoked. The problem is the provoking is going to continue and their reactions are portrayed as acts of self-instigated terrorism ... but they are too small to be initiating violence ... they may just want to be left alone.
I would like to ask Malala what she would think of the idea of giving control to TTP of their own area and leaving them to manage their own affairs and whether that would lead to peace or not. Or why she doesn't consider them as leaders that she would appeal to for establishing schools ... he has lived there with them, but has she spoken to them? Has her father ever spoken to them?
Not that I care, but the picture she paints is so in sync with what the media in the West want to portray and that is only reason why they support her.
She has everything to gain in this too ... We know she is the making of a politician and politicians desire power and she is not so pure of intent nor her father that her motives for power and glory are not clouding what she says. Of course she will give her point of view - but to say that is the truth - is very naive.
this is just amazing. psyah pai, you have outdone yourself. all very logical and sensible and naive.
Re: All things Malala Yousafzai
May there is a reason behind such thought. People think that she has been given extra attention.. while there are other victims of such events around the world, who don't get 1% of such attention.
Why in those cases 'raat gai baat gai' philosophy is followed?
Because only Malala spoke against Talibans in Pakistan. ;)
Re: All things Malala Yousafzai
The first swat operation was carried out in the end of 2007. After that TTP virtually ruled the area through to mid 2009 when the second operation was carried out after the failure of the peace deal. Fazlullah’s team would announce the fate of their enemies on radio and then execute and hang them in green chowk. During this period Malala was writing her blogs to tell the outside world of the ordeal of the people living under them.

Re: All things Malala Yousafzai
Many many more have been killed in ensuing suicide attacks.
Re: All things Malala Yousafzai
:hmmm: Drone main marne wala kutte ki maut marta hai.. suicide attack main marne wala shaheed hai.. tab o taab e jawedana in Iqbal’s words.
Dual standards thy name is hypocrisy. :nook:
Re: All things Malala Yousafzai
No Drones main marnay walay shaheed hain (pious talebanic muslims), suicide attacks main marnay walay kuttay ki mout martay hain (or collateral damage in other words).

why not both be called shaheed and given same weight? Why one victim is Brahmin and other is achhoot for a group? Khoon e na haq to khoon e na-haq hai...

look at your own post. In Pakistan more focus and noise is on drone strikes as compared to suicide attacks although the latter has killed 20 times more people. No comparison at all.

Re: All things Malala Yousafzai
I was being sarcastic… Being Pakistani we should have same pain for both the victims. whether its 10 or 10,000.
Why don’t we listen from likes of NFP and other liberals some words of solidarity for those who lost their lives in Drones? Did anyone from group who is against Drones sing this wehshiyana alaap ‘More suicide attacks… more suicide attacks’ like these liberals say/ demand ‘more drone attacks.. more drone attacks’?
What are the views of qom ki ladli beti Malala for those who killed or became disable due to these drone attacks? kia iss chiRya ne apni chonch kholi iss mamle per? Who will she educate? dead bodies or disabled people of her area? Why doesn’t she consider stopping of drones as a step to peace? Seems she knows the idiom ‘gehoon ke sath ghun bhi pista hai’ and take the innocent people killed in drones like ‘ghun’ in literal terms ![]()
Re: All things Malala Yousafzai
Muqawee, actually this brave girl condemned the attacks while sitting with Obama, None of the sher khans of Pakistans could do what this chirya did. Loug oos ko sunna nahi chaatay to iss main oos kaa tou qusoor nahee.
“I thanked President Obama for the United States’ work in supporting education in Pakistan and Afghanistan and for Syrian refugees,” Yousafzai said in a statement published by the Associated Press. “I also expressed my concerns that drone attacks are fueling terrorism. Innocent victims are killed in these acts, and they lead to resentment among the Pakistani people. If we refocus efforts on education it will make a big impact.”

Thanks for sharing. This is the recent shift in her views. Did she talked against drones in her diary which made her aankh ka tara of western media? If she had and that is also included in her book, then that should be given more coverage to tell people that she felt their pain from the first day and not acting like a true politician all of sudden

Why is it the duty of a 16 years old girl to talk about drones? What is the politicians that Pakistanis voted and brought to power are doing? Is it not their job?

Don't we know those who talked against drones what they have been called by liberal media? Being 16 doesn't absolve her from a major issue of her area. If she is portraying her as champion for education rights of her area, she should talk more against drones which cost lives of people in her area. We all know murdon ko to paighambar bhi taleem nahin de sakte.
Re: All things Malala Yousafzai
Dude, she was the champion of promoting education before she was hit by Talibans. World learned about it after the attack. She was not doing it for any cheap fame. She was fully involved in the issues of her area, way before she was 16. She was promoting education. Where was the whole nation then when Talibans were bombing the schools in Swat area?
Re: All things Malala Yousafzai
She is getting all the attention because it is a very 'saleable' story..........and secondl the villain in the story is Taliban..... providing a sense of validation for the wars being carried out......
i doubt if it was a boy who was shot by someone other than 'taliban' would get the same amount of media coverage.....
the girl's life has been ruined......once by talibans shooting in her in the head........and now the western media/governments making her out to be a dalai lama or something........... her childhood has been truly taken away..........sad....
