Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright told Fox News Channel
analyst Morton Kondracke yesterday she suspects President Bush knows
the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden and is simply waiting for the most
politically expedient moment to announce his capture.

Kondracke made the announcement about what Albright told him backstage
before an appearance on another Fox show on “Special Report With Brit
Hume.”

Kondracke was incredulous that a former secretary of state could
believe something like that about a U.S. administration.

“She was not smiling when she said this,” offered Kondracke, who
believes Albright is serious about the conspiracy theory.

Albright is on a media tour to promote her new book, “Madam Secretary,
A Memoir.”

She was mildly critical of Bush administration policy in Iraq on camera
in later appearances on “The O’Reilly Factor” and on MSNBC’s “Hardball
With Chris Matthews.”

“I’m one of these people that said I understood the ‘why’ of the war,
but I didn’t understand the ‘why now’ or the ‘what next,’” she told
O’Reilly. “I still have a lot of questions. And I think that we don’t
know, frankly, what the effect of Saddam’s capture is on the general
situation in Iraq. President Bush and Secretary Rumsfeld have, in fact,
warned about violence still going on, and the effect within the rest of
the Middle East of a prolonged trial or an execution or generally how
he is treated.”

Comment:

Some intresting views by Ms Albright. Why is it that when they leave office their true feelings come to the surface? If this view had been expressed by a muslim then many on this board would have cried conspiracy theory, but since it is being expressed by a former senior member of government then it is credible. The 9/11 attacks and other subsequent attacks by Al-Qaeda has certainly benefited the American government which has used these attacks as a pretext to invade strategically and economically beneficial muslim countries.

I may fall over dead!

After all of the hate slung around here about quotes on sanctions by Amb. Albright, NOW we are quoting her as a source?

And frankly if we did have OBL we certainly would try to get every last scrap of information out of him about his network before revealing that he had been captured. Less time for the cokroaches to scatter. I hope the Amb. is correct....

well the ttile is a little misleading.. if bush was hiding bin laden then he may have been kept in some farm outsides of des moines, Iowa ( P.S. NSA/CIA/FBI etc in the event W is keeping OBL on a farm in that area, i have no knowledge of it, I just randomly picked the name of a place..thank you)

anyways..here is is said that the govt may be aware of the whereabouts of OBL and is looking for a good time to get him..that could be true as well, now ehether its a politically advatageous time or whether they want to monitor who he is working with etc to get the entire lot of rats, that is debateable.

Either way the entire basis of this is based on her guess/judgement.. and there is no reason to beleive that she would actually know such a thing, and even if she did, and it is a mattef of national security..that she would be allowed to blab about it.

maddy albright may be opening one of those psychic hotlines.

yo O.G. no hatin' I think some opf her quotes are as deplorable as they come...but its not a question of hate but a matter of calling a spade a spade..or calling an idiotic remark by her an idiotic remark.

with these new remarks..maybe u would be convinced now too that she needs to just not speak..cuz..it reminds me of the eminem song "forgot about dre".. i.e. but all u hear is a bunch of gibberish..

Ambassadors should know the power of words and respect them.

She was after all a Clinton appointee, and perhaps nothing more needs to be said.

If the US had knowledge of where OBL was, they would grab him post haste. No commander on the ground would want to be the one that "let OBL get away". They may not announce it right away, but you can bet he would be on a full time sodium pentathol drip in some obscure pre-arranged country , hollywooded up to look like a Saudi jail.

?

This is really terrific thinking.

For how many months have a bunch of Bush-bashers been gleeful in pointing out that America is an impotent failure because we haven't been able to capture or kill Saddam or OBL.

Now, all of a sudden, these same folks become conspiracy theorists saying we could have captured Saddam anytime we wanted and that we either already have OBL or can capture him too whenever we want.

Some people just can't stand it when America accomplishes something really good.

dude you are seeing multiples..too much to drink at the office party? :)

showkot is one person, so the term "folks" can not be applied to him. Unless u are including maddy albright as a gupster as well ;)

yeah dang those democrats :D

Hey Fraudz. I didn't limit my comments to GUPPY Bush-Whackers. I meant all Bush-whackers. And this time I refrained from referring to them as "Anti-Americans" or even "America-bashers." I probably should have said "these people can't stand it when America ** under GWB's leadership ** does something good.

McDermott, HalfBright and anti-American Guppies seem to be finding some common ground here.
