Re: Aitchison principal being fired for resisting nepotism

It is possible that the other party offered more.

Re: Aitchison principal being fired for resisting nepotism

Nepotism is need of the hour, how else are we going to transfer the knowledge/practice of being ruled over by dacoos/luteras?

Aitchison College management refuses entry to ousted principal - The Express Tribune

****LAHORE: The management of Aitchison College barred the college’s principal Dr Agha Ghazanfar from entering the university’s premises on Thursday.
Ghazanfar was stopped from entering the college by the administration when he came back from London to take charge of his position. His official car was also detained by officials of the college.
Later, he filed a complaint at the Race Course police station against the administration.
Talking briefly to the media before entering the principal’s residence, Ghazanfar said he was being punished for upholding merit, and was being stopped by Ameer Hussain despite orders of the Lahore High Court.
Ghazanfar, who was ousted from his post by Aitchison College Board of Governors in July, was reinstated by the Lahore High Court on August 23.

In July, Dr Ghazanfar told The Express Tribune he was under immense pressure from influential quarters regarding admissions. He had said this year the admission process had been fair and transparent as merit lists were made public.
On the other hand, the college’s board of governors had said several administrative issues had emerged between the principal and rest of the staff.
Mustafa Ramday, a member of the BoG, said the decision was based on petty issues. “I strongly disagree with the decision made by the majority of the board,” he said.

He said the school had ensured transparent admissions this year and none had been challenged. Last year, he said, around 70 writ petitions challenging the admissions had been filed. Calling the decision unfortunate, he said a wrong precedent was being set.
He said a controversy had been created surrounding admissions even though the chief minister had strongly directed the principal to ensure merit.

Re: Aitchison principal being fired for resisting nepotism

So our "agencies" (read FIA, Army, NAB) cant see this corruption?

Eik admi rul raha hai roads per just because he is being honest and did no allow out of merit admission in college to kids of entitled elite. Karachi main roz civic center per raid hota hai, kabhi water board ki office per raid hota hai kabhi Higher Education commission k office per raid hota hai what about this matter which is in public for some time now?

Re: Aitchison principal being fired for resisting nepotism

^ Please do no act like an MQM apologist - this is exactly the kind of things they had been saying since the start the operation.

Thank you for your concern - the Principal has been reinstated, the same day Ayaz Sadiq's verdict came out!

Re: Aitchison principal being fired for resisting nepotism

But, today he was stopped from entering the campus in spite of the court's verdict.

Re: Aitchison principal being fired for resisting nepotism

FYI 'agencies' are doing a very serious, much needed and much appreciated crackdown on all kinds of terrorism and industrial scale institutionalised financial corruption which had crippled the financial hub of Pakistan and affected millions and millions of ordinary Pakistanis on daily basis. Their job is not to take any and every remotely 'public' matter to score some brownie points!

Any sane person would be able to comprehend and digest the fact that colossal level of land theft, water theft, political and economic terrorism in Pakistan's financial hub is far more important and unique task, and can no way be compared with a misery of jobless principal of an elitist of elite institution whose matter has been resolved by the court in such a timely fashion. I really did not understand the point behind a typical MQM style taunt and whataboutery.

Re: Aitchison principal being fired for resisting nepotism

That my friend is for messing with ruling 1200 in Pakistan.. similar case but the city is Peshawar and VC of PU was advised to be removed to refusing PTI MNA Murad Saeed a degree as per MNA's terms....

Re: Aitchison principal being fired for resisting nepotism

As a matter of fact, "agencies" should have no say on corruption control. They have no business arresting people for corruption but they are doing it since Govt and other civilian agencies are no doing their job and people are appreciating it (including myself) but sometimes authorities have to take actions to keep the public perception straight and to send message and this principal case is one such case.

Re: Aitchison principal being fired for resisting nepotism

You sound massively confused.

It is indeed FIA and NAB's job to control corruption and arrest people, majority of the raids in Karachi are being conducted by Rangers in collaboration with FIA and NAB. Let's not get blinded by our age old contempt for 'agencies' because you associate the word with men in uniform!

It makes no sense to ask FIA and NAB who are busy unearthing colossal level of corruption which has perpetuated all kinds of terrorism in Karachi to take the notice of Aitchison principal just because the issue is 'public' (so are 1000s of other issues)! Why do you want NAB, FIA and Rangers to get involved when LHC has already given its verdict in favour of the principal? How does this case even qualifies as economic or political terrorism in order for Rangers to take action there? If you really care about keeping the public perception straight, you could have asked for action to be taken against Punjab based bureaucrats and politicians for indulging in exactly the kind of systematic corruption which is being exposed in Karachi. But truth to be told, rumours are also flying that crackdown against systematic corruption will complete its full cycle in Punjab - which is exactly what we need.
