Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women
LOL at those "oh baby wieght is her business" "kudos for not losing the weight" "who cares" and all the rest of the bla blah blahhh....
Errr she gets paid what 10 million dollars a year for L'Oreal? And she's at Cannes representing L'Oreal. You cannot blame the public for keeping an interest in her appearance because the it was the same public interest and intense fascination with her good looks that got her the lucrative contact and now it would be the lack of public interest in her looks that could very much make her lose this huge contract. So who are you trying to kid by saying that public opinion about her image doesn't matter? I bet the the L'Oreal walas are keeping a very close eye on her diminishing popularity and calling a round the table meetings regarding her future with the brand. Unfortunately this is how things work in the world of glitz and glamour and there are so many immensely talented and hardworking actresses/models with positive reputation and inspiring personalities who deserve this contract lot more than than Aish....sorry but I seriously don't get her appeal. Hoping to see L'Oreal make a wise move and get rid of her...
Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women
i think she made the decision first...
why did heidi klum go back to her pre pregnancy weight and body 8 days after delivery? cuz she wanted to keep her career going.
why did angelina jolie do the same? career career
who knows.. maybe ash doesnt think she wants all that glits and blits and movies .. cuz as she said it.. motherhood comes above all. if anything.. i think she made the first decision as to what she wants form life... anything that happens now .. be it l'oreal or movies etc.. its all secondary ... and i doubt she cares. otherwise she woulda delivered on teh treadmill!
Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women
Khawteen I understand what you are saying, but ts not about career or making new movies, she is in the public eye and she has a sacrifise to make, if she is sooo about motherhood, she should not attend the cannes. Another thing I noticed about her, how she walked on the red carpet, so akward, as she is still pregnant or is having twins. Its not healthy and if she doesnt stop, do exercise or some diet, this can get worse. Then the public will not be so caring oooh she just had a baby.
Re: Aishwarya Rai's post-baby body forces India to confront its attitude to women
She says in a very fake accent, "this is reality, this is who I am, I'm a mother, I'm real".
That makes me think it may very well be a publicity stunt to gain wt. All the celebrities want attention - maybe its not true in this case but just a thought. I personally could care less about any celebrity.

but she is in the public eye because of her career......and if she has made a conscious decision to quit that life then that is her right to make that decision.....who are we to interfere?
and btw.....she may have attended Cannes as a part of fulfilling her contract to L'Oreal and not because she wanted to.....
