aish' and devs' meet on rainy nite!!! (Rain Coat)

Re: aish' and devs' meet on rainy nite!!! (Rain Coat)

finally - I meet someone who appreciates Ijaazat as much as I do... aur aik din me do loag! :) nice...
Saddz - yep the movie shared a lot with Ijaazat in its setup and theme of retrospection and compunction - but it came nowhere close in the subtle and crafty dialogs of Gulzar.

RB,
Ofcourse I remember that sequence – it was comedy but with a hidden connotation of our common experiences… things don’t exactly happen when we want them to happen.

One of my favorite dialog sequences:

1. Arey… abb bhi machis rakhti ho? pehle tow mere liye rakhti thi aur abb?
2. Apne liye rakhti hooN…
1. Matlab? cigarette peena shuru karr diya hai kya?
2. NahiN… aap ke bhoolne ki aadat nahi gayi – mere rakhne ki aadat nahi gayi
...
1. “AadateyN bhi ajeeb hoti heiN… saans lena bhi kaisi aadat hai – jiye jaana bhi kya riwayat hai... Jiye jaate heiN – jiye jaateyN heiN… AadateyN bhi ajeeb hoti heiN”

Lastly, here’s the movie’s characterization in one dialog:

1. Dekhiye ye ghar nahi hai – waiting room hai
2. Ghar bhi tow wohi thaa… waiting room.

offo... now I feel like watching the movie :(

Re: aish’ and devs’ meet on rainy nite!!! (Rain Coat)

nice dialoques Umar :k:

if u have the Ijazat Album.. theyve put in quite a bit of the dialogue onto it.. i love it.. especially the part where Rekha’s character asks Naseers character to recide Maya’s letter.. just awesome.. u can feel rekhas pain.. and maya’s..

theres also another part where naseer’s character is explaining the term “mazi” to rekha’s character… nice

Saddz... i have the album on tape, and 2 CDs... and I have the movie DVD :) yep I'm a freak.

yep... who can forget Mera Kuuch Saamaan and the prolog to it... I just explained what "116 chaand ki raateyN... aik tumhare kaandhe ka til" means to someone the other day :)
