WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Defense Department is scrapping the multibillion-dollar RAH-66 Comanche helicopter program being developed by Boeing Co. (BA.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and United Technologies Corp. (UTX.N: Quote, Profile, Research) , government sources said on Monday.
Pentagon officials plan to announce the decision at a news conference at 4:30 p.m. (2130 GMT), the sources said.

Don't you guys think those people were right that America is heading for another Vietnam.
You know shooting down the choopers, attacking the prison and successfully liberating their members, snippers, shooting the key members of enemy ... and so on.
what you guys think. I think it is going from bad to worse.
Believe me this is worse than Vietnam. Almost 650 US and “coalition” soldiers have now been killed in this war, and many, many thousands more injured. It must be noted that 75% of these soldiers have been killed since 1 May 2003, when Bush in effective declared victory in the war in Iraq.
More copters go down today, and more US soldiers killed.

Two Killed in U.S. Helicopter Crash in Iraq
A U.S. Kiowa reconnaissance helicopter crashed in western Iraq Wednesday, killing the two crew members on board, a U.S. Army spokesman said. The spokesman said the crash appeared to have been caused by a mechanical malfunction rather than hostile fire.
