I think that it's "idealistic" to say that age is "just" a number because a huge age gap can make a difference....it has its challenges. But in the end what matters most is the compatibility and mutual efforts to make the relationship work.

me n huby r 6 years apart
after becoming mother gained weight became bit chuny now v almost look of same age n i thnk ALLAH i m younger than him else if i was of his age i might be looking elder than him

There is no problem in 2 years. I was just saying that there is 2 years difference between me and my husband, but for me the limit would have been 5-6 years. I think any older than that, and there may be generational differences between the twp people. Its not the case for everyone. Some people have no issue with a huge difference, while others - like me, prefer a smaller difference. I feel like me and my husband are on the same wavelength.

From the woman's age of 40 they can be the same age or different ages no problem ...

But from between the girls age of 16 to 40 then the following calculation should be used .... Hehehe STA ... inspired.

B = 5 x Sqroot (G) + 0.2 (G)

Where B is the boy's age and G is the girl's age.

personal i was engaged to a guy who was 8 years older than me I was happy with it until i got to know him and was bitterly disappointed that we was so immature... now engaged to someone who is 1 year older than me :)

I don't think it should matter much nowadays (unless there are **extremes **like RV said, but at the end of the day the most important thing is compatibility)..
