He might start divulging what he said to his old buddy Rumsfeld when he visited, when there were reports he was gassing people?

Don't you know Malik such evidence is inadmisable in a court of law. But Rummy can always claim his acts were due to diminished responsibilities ... :)

Possibly.
Maybe he will tell them about about the military help and intelligence the yanks gave him when he was bombing the Iranian people, or how they did not give to much notice when he was chemically bombing his own people?

You're right. U.S. gave about as much notice as anyone when Halabja got gassed, which is to say not much. But now he is in custody and will not gas or murder anyone else. So the survivors of Halabja and his many other crimes against Iraqi citizens will have a chance to see justice served. Not 'cause of you, Muslim neighbors, France, or anybody except GWB and the U.S. armed forces. So the people that really matter in the discussion, the victims, got something real and important from his capture. And for that, I'm sure many will be thankful.
He will tell of how the whole world including Russia, Europe and Muslim countries turned a blind eye when he was chemically bombing his own people. But it is his record of ethnic cleansing, rape, murder, torture, displacement, terror, supression and a million mass graves that will be on trial. It will be because of this testimony that the world will have to admit that it is good that the tyrant is gone from power.

Yes, but the fact is the Reagan administration actually tried to cover up any condemnation in the US about what Saddam had done at Halabja, and years earlier even when Rumsfeld knew Saddam was gassing people he visited him over and over again. Let's not forget how you supported his invasion of Iran, and provided him with aid and intelligence to kill Iranians. So save the "we freed the suffering Iraqi people" mantra for the very few in this world who buy that.
More importantly, and the point of this thread being posted is do you think resistance to the US occupation will disappear? If so, is that not what American's said after Saddam's sons were killed in July, yet 223 American soldiers have been killed since?

I would think the point of this thread and the greater cause were to be more about the postive possibilities for the Iraq people instead of the 223 American soldiers that have been killed. It seems that all that matters is the US suffer. If it means so do the Iraqi people, so be it. So save the "I care about the suffering Iraqi people" mantra for the very few in this world who buy that.

All that matters is the suffering of the Iraqi people under US military occupation. It is a fact now that tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians have been slaughtered by the US military, and that American troops have been killing many more innocent Iraqi's than any other group for the last nine months.
It does matter very much that the US military seem to have picked up where Saddam left off...
But will the resistance go down as predicted rather falsely back in July?
I was watching a TV program, I wonder if it was movie (just caught it during middle)... They showed one advisor to US president asking for one week to show Canadians bad.. and he was given a week. WHoaaaa come out several news:
Canadians are marching towards US
Canadians are building up their military borders
TV interview show people "I never liked Canada"
People are told every second how Canada will ruin their lives
.... just like character assasination of "Enemy of the State".
and people start taking arms to save their neighborhoods etc
Yes, Saddam was a bad guy, everyone knows.... but remember the only reason Iraq was invaded was WMDs.. now we get to hear "he murdered so many people", "he did that" he done that..... yeah.
I don't have a problem, hang him somewhere, anywhere.
Blasts rock central Baghdad following the capture of Saddam Hussein
Large explosions rocked central Baghdad on Sunday evening and flames and thick smoke rose from the area, just hours after U.S. officials announced the capture of Saddam Hussein. A policeman said there were no casualties. Shortly afterward, bursts of gunfire rang out from the area. The explosions occurred at 8:20 p.m. local time in the central Baghdad area of Karadah. A policeman said a white four-wheel drive vehicle had exploded on Saadoun Street, a busy thoroughfare, after two men jumped from the vehicle and fled the scene. Two fire trucks arrived a few minutes later and started putting out the blaze.
