Backward step from PCB dumb afridi lovers with no cricket knowledge are cheering as some messiah has arrived.
Instead of making this foolish tried and tested failure captain they should have invested in Sohaib or Fawad. Misbah won't stay for long and we really don't have any replacement in longer formats. This was the right opportunity to groom someone for future and give them an easiest way to gain some on field and off field experience as captain.
PCB (Pakistan Circus Board) when will they ever learn from their mistakes.

Hafeez should have been re-appointed or Fawad Alam perhaps.
Afridi can only captain in 5/5 future format. Thats how long his sanity lasts.

I think it may not be the best step but still not a terrible one either. He has experience of captaincy and for 20 overs game, you dont need a ton of cool brain either. But he MUST perform as well which if he does we'll hv a great prospect to win.
Pretty much. I am disappointed we still have Misbah as ODI captain, though admittedly it is too late to change him now anyway

If Afridi manages to survive (he is quite prone to tantrums) until 2016 World T20 (in India) he would have played international cricket for 20 years (debut 1996). It would be some achievement for a cricketer who never quite did full justice to his batting talent.
