Yes but more so he has shown that a strong element of the ISI and Military are friendly with the militants. Afridi has shown that as the Americans destroy Afghanistan and militants destroy FATA in cionjunction with the Pak Army/ISI, the real problem lies not in these places but in the corridors of power in Pakistan. The Wesetrn World knows this, the democratic government in pakistan knows this, the world suspected it… but they needed proof…they got it.

Pakistan is being destroyed by the Generals who rule it…they are short sighted and need to be pulled into line…

Pakistan is caught between a rock and a hard place.

Our Democratic Governments are incompetent and thus the military is needed to give the country a steady hand.

The military is the only functioning organ within Pakistan but it invents fictions conflicts with India to justify its large budget and keeps siphoning large sums to bank roll its large accounts and keep a stranglehold on the Pakistani economy.

Peace between India and Pakistan is not in the interests of the Pakistani Military.

And thus despite all the blows it has taken by these Islamic Groups, the Pakistani Military refuses to take total and forceful action against them and hopes that after 2014 when US and NATO withdraws from Afghanistan, Pakistan can funnel these Islamists against India and continue the proxy war.

This is a very dangerous self delusion, the same that occurred in 1971 which led to civil war and creation of Bangladesh.
