he worked for a foreign intelligence without informing Pakistani authorities. suppose, if an american would have done the same thing, he would have been classified as a spy/traitor and thrown in jail for years. this is what the law says, and he acted against the law.

I think he is being punished for making the ISI and Pakistani Military look incompetent.
