Wait till he comes to England, plenty of slip catches. I am not convinced.
Butt and consistency an oxymoron, unless you are talking about him providing slip catches and failure to take any catches.
No other option left except Afridi. He is the temporary fix for this seemingly never ending drama. The scary part though is that I don't see any player in the current set up who can be given this responsibility in future.

i agree..no other choice but afridi given the situation but i have a feeling that now that he is 35, his reflexes are no more as sharp as they used to be....so he would be a disaster in test matches....

even the best reflexes cannot compensate for the lack of a functional brain... Afridi's issue is the latter.
well good luck to the team going in with a captain who only deserves a spot in the T20 team and maybe not even that for very long. it's ironic that the lack of a sure spot in the test team was one of the main criticisms of Malik as captain. now we're picking a captain who doesn't deserve to be in the 15 member squad.
we need to go to the Aussie model. pick the squad first on merit and then pick a captain. who knows we might luck out and get a great captain out of nowhere. after all, no one thought that Imran would be so wildly successful when he was made captain.
