With him it is a case of what could have been, immensely talented but never fulfilled the talent, played more to the gallery than for the team.

To say that there will not be players like him anymore is an overstatement. Maybe not as popular as him but we have had all rounders who were much more talented than him like Razzaq and Azhar Mehmood. Razzaq was not only brilliant bowler but devastating batsmen as well. India had kapil dev and in the 80’s we had four of the best all rounders of all times - Botham, Imran, Kapil, Hadlee. Now that was talent and fulfilled talent.

well surprisingly his test match record is really not that bad…i think he averages close to 37 with bat with 5 centuries if i am not wrong. but he was never really interested in playing test cricket and that shows temperamental issues.

I must say he is the last true superstar we have ..someone who is a true crowd puller globally. We will miss Lala Jee for sure.
