It wasn't a Pakistani style wedding. We wore the outfits (even though they weren't completely traditional looking as i really don't like the very traditional outfits and jewellery) but that is all that was Pakistani about it! We had Turkish entertainment, Lebanese food, english music. Besides, if someone is marrying a Pakistani guy, why should they not have a Pakistani wedding if that's what they want????

I didn't have a walima, everything was in one. I had a registry one day, then the mehndi another day, then the nikkah and reception on the same day. That's how the turks do it so i wanted to keep it like that, i didn't like splitting the 2 up, it was too much hassle, and much nicer to do it altogether! People have a lot more fun too!

i also have a "turkish/ kurdish" bhabi and the mehendi was a mix of pakistani and turkish style and the wedding and walima was more pakistani style
