’Babri demolition day of glory’
Senior BJP leader Kalyan Singh has expressed surprise over party chief L.K. Advani’s remark in Pakistan that the Babri Masjid demolition was the “saddest day” of his life.
“In 1992, it was Advaniji who had termed December 6,1992 as the ‘liberation day.’ I don’t know what he is saying today,” Singh told Aaj Tak when asked to react to the BJP chief’s remarks made in Islamabad a couple of days back.

Advani slammed for Babri ‘treachery’
Ahmedabad, June 4: Some unidentified persons put up posters in the city decrying the statement made on the Babri Masjid issue by BJP president and leader of the Opposition L K Advani during his Pakistan trip.
Posters saying "Advani Hinduon ko jawab do…saat baar Somnath tuta…Kisne maafi maangi? Ayodhya me jo tuta woh mandir tha…phir kyun maafi maangi?
(Advani reply to Hindus…Somnath Temple was destroyed seven times and nobody apologised… What was destroyed in Ayodhya was a temple (originally)… Then why apologise?) were put up by suspected VHP activists.
Though none of the senior local VHP leaders were available for comment, the city VHP unit said in a press release that “Advani should apologise to the Hindus for his statements in Pakistan”.
A poster in Ellisbridge area read “Jhutha khel… Jhuthivaani… Hindu drohi hai Advani” (false play… false words…Advani is anti-Hindu).
When contacted, Ellisbridge police said that they were not aware of the poster and that it was not an offence as such.
Hindu leaders in Ayodhya have already flayed Advani for describing December 6, 1992 Ayodhya incident as the “saddest day of his life”.
Advani is a BJP MP from Gandhinagar constituency which encompasses many areas of Ahmedabad city as well.

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister said BJP has not contradicted his stand on Babri Masjid demolition and “I think that it is also the party’s stand.”
Singh said he has no remorse, regret or pain over the demolition and “I consider December 6,1992 as the day of glory.”
