I wonder how tolerant you’d be if the tables were turned? I’d guess it’d cause posts to disappear as has often been the case on gupshup.
And as far as your comment on posts disappearing, well, posts may be deleted bcz they do not conform to the rules of Gupshup as far as the language is concerned, and never are they deleted because the moderator does not agree to the opinion.

Taking the piss out of people who have spelling errors in their writing is not a mture thing to do… you might get a laugh from it but I dare say its degrading or a touch humiliating for those who spelt it wrong,
English isnt some of the guppies first language but still they try to participate as fully as they can, whether their view is same as yours or not, you dont have the right to laugh at them! and just coz some of the guppies english is poor doesnt make them inadequate coz they might speak another 7-8 languages properly!

I’m a little confused by your above statement. You stated that you were being sarcastic, but then you still said that in the religion forum shias are considered non-muslims. So which one is it? Were you being sarcastic or stating how you really felt?
This subject has been discussed on numerous occassions. And I believe, though I haven't checked, that the author of this thread has been around for those other disucussions as well.
In short, we subscribe to a service to generate a portion of the funds to keep this board alive. We do not have as much control over the banner content on that service. We have repeatedly expressed our dismay at ads that promote services that are disapproved of in Islamic society. Unfortunately, short of charging the public a membership fee, we do not have an alternative source of income for this site right now. Therefore, until such time as someone comes up with a reliable and technologically compatible, Islamic banner service (now there's an opportunity for you entreprenuerial types), we are stuck.
We have apologized in the past for the content and I offer my apology again to those that are offended by such material.
Having said that, I also feel it necessary to re-emphasize the confidence we have in our membership to differentiate between "good" and "bad".
Furthermore, threads like this one are appreciated because not only do they force us to re-evaluate our options as Administrators, but they remind the gupshup community that we need to use our heads instead of just blindly following whatever path comes before us. Moral? Don't expect others to take responsibility for your actions. Use your own abilities to decide whether or not you should click.
English may not be the first language to most guppies, and it is fine. But seeing too many spelling mistakes can be quite distracting (atleast for me). Occassional typos happen to everyone, and no one even notices them. What is mature or not is not for you to decide as we all know each other pretty well.
