This is so true.
Most Pakistani actresses have zero *personal style. *It's not even about being trendy, it's about having a certain personalised style that you can carry it with certain confidence and grace. My fashion philosophy is you can be dressed in basic black from head to toe, and still look phenomenally chic and endearing. It really is all about how you carry yourself and how confident you are in your own taste, of course quality of your clothes also matter. Sadly, most of these Pakistani actresses think showing up on award shows dressed up like Bollywood backup dancers or 90s prom queens could be seen as as a devastating expression of style and 'modernity'. These simply women need stop opting for 'shock factor' and dressing up like wannabes and just start wearing clothes that reflect some level of craftsmanship, artistry, elegance and finesse.
Considering Pakistani cities have a phenomenal street style, a big textile industry and rich artisan culture, it makes me want to cry when I see some of these actresses of red carpet. And don't even get me started on how badly some of these 20 something actresses have ruined their faces through cosmetic procedures.

In addition to what Jolie said, I wanted to added that, contrary to popular actress opinion, "modernity" is not synonymous with dressing revealingly and showing skin. It is quite possible to dress quite modern without doing that.
