acne on half face

Re: acne on half face

@ArshH - It does help but don't expect miracles. It really helps soothe and balances my skin. I have tried so many cleansers, from drugstore to the really pricey ones, and at the end of the day something so simple as honey did the trick. If it's good enough to eat then it's good enough to put on your skin lol. I would suggest you use organic honey (preferably the creamy coloured ones) to get good results. Give it a go, you might like it. Plus, it's not even expensive!!
I would highly reccomend Mauka honey but it's really pricey. It has helped me so much!

To be honest, you need to address the root cause of acne in order to completely get rid of it. No matter how much you cleanse, use products etc... it won't go away until you treat it from the inside. It's the inconvenient truth, unfortunately!!

Re: acne on half face

i have been reading about it on gs quite a lot.hadnt heard about it before that.what exactly is it and is it available easily in pakistan?

Re: acne on half face

i tried it once pinkblossom but i broke out :( even though my skin showed that instant peachy glow every time i washed my face with it but that dry white head kind of acne appeared on my forehead within a week. are you sure it is safe to use on a daily basis?

Re: acne on half face

im getting hormonal acne (around my chin/ jawline) and its driving me crazy :(. This guy at sephora talked me into buying perricone md dietry supplements capsules, but i just got tired of taking 7 giant capsules in the morning. Anybody used it for a good aount of time?
btw where would i find organic honey?

Re: acne on half face

thats what this MUa at Mac told me coz its more concentrated on the right part of the face.

Re: acne on half face

@dragonlady- That's strange! Are you allergic to honey? Did you use organic honey? I buy honey from a local health store so that way I know I'm getting the good stuff because most honey from the supermarkets are pasteurised, which means that their anti bacterial properties have been killed.
I've been using it for about 2 months, daily, without any problems.

Re: acne on half face

Everything @stoppit said, along with this: cleansers with salicylic acid are not as effective at clearing acne. Salicylic acid is only effective when it's left on the skin, so in a form of a treatment or toner will it really be useful. And I am a huge believer in witch hazel also. Just spray and wipe that off whenever you feel oily.

Re: acne on half face

the honey i used was fresh off the farms so the likelihood of any impurities in it is slight. and now i come to think of it i could very easily be allergic to even that. coz i have combination sensitive skin and pretty much every thing i use on a regular basis eventually cause some rash or allergy. no matter how mild the product is,the longest i can go using it is 2 weeks (if i am using it daily.using it on alternate days is ok though)

do u guys think it is a condition i should consult a dermatologist about?

Re: acne on half face

Was the honey grainy? because if it was, then you shouldn't use it on your face because it's too abrasive. I use the smooth, creamy coloured honey and I've had great result. Well, gathering from what you've written, it seems as if you could very well be allergic to it.
If only everyone's skin was the same sigh

Re: acne on half face

I had purchased Manuka Honey severals days before i saw it in this thread....I had never seen it mentioned prior. I had a few breakouts and I applied a thin layer of the honey all over my face. The breakouts....even some of the new teeny tiny ones....have flattened out and subsided. I think it's too early for me to tell if the effect was due to the Manuka honey.....because I was using other products in conjunction, making it tough to pin point which made the strongest difference.....or it could be argued that they all worked together. I will say that my skin appear different after only using the honey a few times.....there's sort of a glow/clarity to it.

Manuka Honey is the most beneficial of honeys....because its antibactieral properties are stronger compared to other honeys. It comes from the tea tree plant I think....and tea tree oil as well is very antibacterial/fungal, etc. I have also been drinking a teaspoon of Manuka Honey mixed into luke warm green tea.............if the tea is hot it will destroy the benefial enzymes in the honey. For those people who find that honey doesn't suit their faces......can try drinking it. Acne is caused partly by bacteria....and if eating the honey can keep your insides clean.....then that can also reflect in more clearer skin. That's another way of using Manuka honey......it doesn't necessarily have to be topical.
Also, honey is a mild AHA (alphahydroxy acid) so it provides some light exfoliation, which is supposed to be a good thing. You could also try consuming yogurt....as that will also keep your digest tract clean and help combat/prevent acne.

Re: acne on half face

^^ manuka honey is amazing because of it's antibacterial properties! It has helped my skin so much. I use manuka honey with a umf 15+. I noticed a big difference after a few days of use, my skin was literaly glowing and it was so smooth. I've stopped exfoliating my skin ever since I started using this mask. It's been well over a month and I haven't exfoliated my skin, and my skin is at it's best right now.

You're right about eating it aswell. Manuka honey is well known for keeping a healthy digestive system. It has so many amazing benefits. If it doesn't work on your skin then you can always eat it lol

Re: acne on half face

i have a honey bottle with hive inside it.. would it be okay to use it on face?

Re: acne on half face

^^go for it!! as long as it's good quality honey then I don't see why it shouldn't be ok to use on your face.

Re: acne on half face

Alright guys, Update time on my acne. Well my acne has decreased a lot thank god. I spoke to the lady the that works at the salon at ULTA, and she told me the difference between Sylisic Acid and Benzoyl Peroxide and for what kind of acne each ingredient is for. As some here mentioned as well, Benzoyl Peroxide is more for Zits, where you get puss formed in the pimple with that little yellow thing that develops on it. Sylicic acid is for red acne that develops inside the skin, the hard kind. I told her to refer me a good afordable product and she told me to get this kit from Clean and Clear, it has a a cleanser, moisturizer, and a lil gel for acne spots, it was for $16.00. The face wash is to get rid of acne, and the other two are for keeping the skin clean and preventing future break outs. So far it has been going great. As you guys have adviced, I’m washing my face twice a day (hard for me to live with that oily skin) but its been working. Oh and the lady told me to change my pillowcase everyday when I have acne and every 2-3 days when I dont have acne. Here is the link to the product: http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?skuId=2141092&productId=prod2141092&navAction=push&navCount=1&subdoc=12skinovation3&categoryId=cat80182

Re: acne on half face

Btw forgot to mention, this does dry out the skin ALOT! and the moisturizer smells funny. :disgust:

Re: acne on half face

Try using Proactive.

Re: acne on half face

^ I made a thread about that, Heard not so good reviews so I backed out.

Re: acne on half face

Stay as far away from Accutane as possible. It seems to have a lot of adverse long-term side-effects (liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and depression)… And ProActive didn’t do anything for me. It was a complete waste of money.

Take a quick look at this video… I personally found it quite informative: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztXsSx0_87I

Re: acne on half face

are you using any type of birth control? I know when I started using Yasmin, I started to get these types of pimples along my jaw line. My doctor then changed my birth control and the acne stopped as well.
