There are many ways. I have used a lot of them in the past and currently still use some of them.

• RDP
• VNC
• PCAnywhere (Both via Internet and via dial up)
• PCAnywhere for DOS (used it for the computers not running on windows :D)
• Logmein
• WebEx
• DemWare
• Windows Live Messenger
• Microsoft Live Meeting

And VSphere (VMWare VSphere) refers to virtualized servers (ESX hosts) from VMWare. It’s not really remote connection. Yes you can login to ESX hosts using VMWare VSphere GUI or through CLI but that’s not a remote connection to your desktop. It’s probably for your company’s database or exchange box
