The last person to ask questions wins.

Re: Aamnay Samnay: HUMA!

Nice answers. English accent was (North. Indian +Europe)/2 = Middle Eastern.
Urdu accent was beautifully authentic.

Nice smackdown on that Southie guy. No, I don't think you are a religious fanatic. Sorry I brought up my favorite topic. Just because we disagree on that topic does not mean I consider you lacking compassion or kindness.

On the contrary. From your blogs and PMs I have known you to be a good person. Differences in ideology noteithstanding.

First time I have been referred to as "creeping" someone out. Strong words.

Enjoyed both the interviews. Khush raho.

Re: Aamnay Samnay: HUMA!

Friends..........its not an accent competition, so please give her a break and lets concentrate on what she speaks than how she speaks! Most of us are Asians BASICALLY, so it never matters how we speak english, important is how we speak our mother tongue.

Have you not seen GORAS singing indian songs? lol, they are hilarious.. and funny........cant pronounce properly but I dont think their friends may have complaint about the way they are pronouncing urdu/ hindi words.

Re: Aamnay Samnay: HUMA!

Huma, let us know your hobbies and your routine besides GS.. :)

Re: Aamnay Samnay: HUMA!

@queen. When we get to hear someone for the first time, it is natural to comment on both the content and the accent. I found the accent intriguing and sweet. In my humble opinion, there is no need to direct the listeners to refrain from commenting on the accent and focus only on the content. One can read a persons post for content. Voice is unique. One gets a feel for emotions, accent AND content.

I really like Huma's accent. The English accent was naturally unique. The Urdu diction was beautiful.

southie uncle kiya aap sachi muchi mujh se larna chahtay hain? :sid: sachi muchhi? :sid: I mean SACHHI MUCHHI? :asa:

Re: Aamnay Samnay: HUMA!

Waise koi baath nahin Rani beti. Hum sirf ye kehna chaahte hai ki accent Jo cheez hai, Har ek manushya ki unique hoyi hai. Is accent ko hum Dil khol kar enjoy Karen, usme kya buri baath hai? Humari Huma ki accent Bohuth hi sunder hai. Sirf yahi kehna chahta tha.

Aasha hai is nacheez ko maaf karein!

Re: Aamnay Samnay: HUMA!

lol^ beti keh ke maafi na mangen... acha nahin lagta :)

Re: Aamnay Samnay: HUMA!

@Huma

Re me “creeping you our” with my question about moderates and secularism, coincidentally a thread was opened about blasphemy law today, catalyzed by this incident.

Dozens of houses torched as mob attacks Lahore Christian locality | Pakistan | DAWN.COM

In another thread today, there was a post about how seculariss are responsible for all ills in Pakistan. The reason I posed the question about Moderates to you was because of what I have perceived as an inability of moderates such as yourself to take a stand. For them both sides are extreme.

It is a shame that as a Director of the Forum, you consider my posing this question as “creeping you out”.

PS. I noticed you didn’t address whether being Secular is same as being anti religious. Considering the number of people who willfully spread such lies, it is a shame you wont touch that question with a 10 ft pole.

The incident in Lahore reminded me that this issue is far too important. Hence this post.

I am out. You will be relieved to note I wont be creeping you out anymore.

Thanks again queen for organizing this despite your busy schedule. May I take the liberty to end the interview now because it’s Monday tomorrow and I’ll be really occupied all week. Even if someone has more questions, I won’t be able to record the answers until the next weekend at least so you’ll have to be really patient. Thanks to all the lovely people for their participation. :waves:

Re: Aamnay Samnay: HUMA!

OMG, You sound totally different person than what you are on GS,lol. :hehe: Went through the interview, good answers.Your accents is mixed Irish and American but not British, thought I 'll listen Brit accent since you are our next door neighbour. :sid: You use the word YAAR in almost each sentence especially when you speak in Urdu , it is some word which you say all the time?

Here are few questions from me!

What is your favorite country to live and why?
How much freedom should be given to woman?
Name three things about yourself that you want to change?
What is the one thing you hate most in the world?

Re: Aamnay Samnay: HUMA!

Nope, the yaar bit only comes out when I'm speaking in Urdu... thanks to the Lahori influence lol.
