No , it is not like this :slight_smile: There are plenty of ahadith over the superiority of scholars over common man (in terms of sawab) .

One can easily fall into fitna if he is not attached/affiliated with ulema.

it was a nice thread. But some of you have turned it into a mockery. Cant we take someone's personal and private affair like performing a Hajj with some seriousness and positivity? No one of us even knows Amir and lots' intention behind performing Hajj and Allah's plan behind having these lot together under the same banner.

Religions could be different but there is a thing called courtesy and a respect for others' religion and religious affairs. I know there will be people in every religion who will jump at the opportunity of making fun of someone's religious practices, but well this is not something impressive, ethical, or even human enough.

Just wondering, and I don't know if someone has already asked this before. When a person of his status and money goes for Hajj, do they join the regular Indian Hajj group? Or do they join some rich people group where they stay in luxury hotels and tents?

^^ Thats a good question. I knew that they have special provisions for foreign heads of states and diplomats. Is there any other way you can get VIP status at Makkah? Like paying some premium amount for quicker access to the holy site?

^ good that you asked that. The performing of Hajj itself is for three days lum sum. People can have their trip extended to as short as 5/10 days to 45 days. (ofcourse I am not giving the exact digits, any one can correct me). On first day Muslims leave for Minah, spend a night there in tents, next day go to Arafah, Muzdalfa, and third day offer sacrifice of goat and the Hajj is complete ma sha Allah. Amir, with his Indian Fellows stayed at camp No 12 specific for Indians. Pakistanis were given Camp No 10 (and more maybe, I am not sure). Amir might be given privilege, etc on personal basis. But I dont believe he was given a VIP status and all by the Saudi administration/management/govt. See actors or anything, Hajj is an obligation for all Muslims alike. And is taken as such. NO ONE from any part of the world leaves and is received as a Diplomat etc when they arrive there for Hajj.

I would be impressed and rather happy to know if he is given some VIP treatment by the govt there, as it will be a stance of their hospitality, which isnt much there, other wise. They have to take care of millions of pilgrims every year twice, in Ramadan and and Hajj. There isnt much really which might make them excited about arrival of any Amir, Salman, SRK, or etc. Not sure how would they really behave IF Obama turns Muslim and leaves for Hajj/ Umrah :cb:
