The only security holes in vB passwords are pretty much unavoidable. As chanda ya can’t break md5 , well you can only find collisions.
wayse be most of them are a bunch of people that only write 5 letter lower case a-z passwords, which is still 26^5 passwords and thats still 11 million combinations…
why waste an hour of life , finding the combo 
Hackers , sometimes do questionable legal things, such as breaking into systems, but they generally will not cause harm once they break in…
You cant really mix the both 
They are authorized and paid to do so. Any tom dick and harry cannot just hack into any system.
