The same thing could actually be said about Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene. He has been quietly accumulating runs and been one of Sri Lanka’s most consistent and reliable batsmen over the past decade or so but his achievements have largely gone unnoticed

I think Jayawardene doesn’t get appreciated much because a lot of his runs are inside Sri Lanka. Also, Kallis’ achievements are all the more awesome since he does it consistently in two disciplines.
