A question 4 all the photographers

Re: A question 4 all the photographers

I have been doing graphic design and commercial printing for nearly 9 years now and I keep those skills separated from photography.

Photography - right out of the camera - this is what it is all about.

Now with RAW and editing, you can make up for your mistakes, but don't go overboard.

I use lightroom and photoshop to retouch skin blemishes or to remove random uncles and aunties from backgrounds when they should not be in the frame, but nothing drastic.

If you want to build your photography skills, use FILM. Develop your style while learning how to get the results you want. Then and only then will you have value for your shots (because you are PAYING for them!).

I see too many photographers shooting 2000 photos at a wedding and only having 150 good photos that are heavily modified in photoshop. If you start with Film, you will take much less shots and have a higher "keeper" ratio.
