Basis of what ? Obligation of prayers or when it becomes obligatory on a person ?
Prayers Five times a day are obligatory on every sane adult muslim, There is no excuse for not praying. Same is ture for Fasting in the month of Ramzan, but there can be excuses in exceptional cases. Thats what I know, And It is mostly agreed upon among muslims.
Ammar - so according to you say a person (muslim) starts praying at the age of 40 or 50 they still do not need to make up for the prayers for the earlier years as according to your best of knowledge "Umer qaza" has not been mentioned by prophet or his companions ??
It is amazing that 'best of our knowledge' is so adjustable that it shrinks to zilch for personal convenience and expands to horizons when we in mood of scholary debate :)
