The point is that we are glorifying a specific past and perhaps in it, are the lessons for our present (and president) to learn. Our Armed Forces badly need the people of the likes during 1965. Your post was similar in nature to the incident of playing indian musics in Pakistan's schools on August 14th...
By going with your logic, it means since our present has become nothing but music and dances from across border, we should also remember it on our independence day. :~)
