Re: A day of shame for Cricket & Pakistan
I agree with Syd, that while it was heart breaking to see what these idiots did, it was more shameful that our ability to see a conspiracy in everything was at play here as well. While Amir accepted his crime straight away the other two kept denying it even after they were jailed. I cannot forgive Butt as he was the main culprit in this as it was him who arranged all this. He brought shame and embarrassment to Pakistan and than had the nerve to lie about it. On the other hand our shameless and shallow media used to bring him on as cricket expert on TV. I am prepared to forgive Amir and Asif but never Butt, never for what he did. It is a shame he only served a limited time in jail wish he had got life in prison for what he did. OK rant over.
agreed, butt shd never play again. he was the captain and had more responsibility. but he actually staged the whole thing.
amir, he accepted it right away, was 18 yrs old, and paid the price. plus we need him for god sake in england and australia. why are we not allowing him to play first class cricket right away? we need to check his fitness and skills and if he is good, please bring him back
asif....well, not so sure. love his bowling but he has a bad history. anyway, he was at least quiet most of the time in last 5 years unlike butt who was telling everyone on tv channels that this is a conspiracy against him. so i may be ok with asif if he is still good enough.
