Re: A critical look at the Pak economy
When we look critically at Pak-Economy…we must always be reminded of the facts as to who has been handling it…since the inception of the Country…!
I know that the SBP is responsible for fiscal issue and not economy but then again…whatever we have lost and where-ever we stand today.. has been due to the wavered policies; both economic and fiscal.
The Governor at SBP is as helpless as the Minister of Finance at the Federal level…on such issues! its basically the leadership at the Assembly and Senate that governs everything and when you have or lets say..when you select or elect a party to the seats…its the majority that makes decisions or passes the bills…not ONE MNA or SENATOR if he is independent…however intelligent and worthy his/her thought or idea is…so why interact on something which we cant change when we are diehards of certain political parties…
Once Faiz saheb was asked “Faiz Saheb…ye mulk aagay kaisay chalay ga?” to which he sipped abb-e-jou and in his themic voice said “Mian, ye mulk jaisa LUTRUM PUTRUM chall raha hai…AISA hee chalta rahay ga”
Aap ki khidat mein SBP Governors ki list iss leeay pesh ki k aap dekhein k kaisa kaisa honhaar Pakistani Governor raha hai..magarr bechaara Politicians k agaay chall na sakka!
Late Dr. Mahbubul Haq, whom I consider a genius on economy.. was denied a Senate ticket by Nawaz Sharif because of party decision that “Daaktar Bohat Tez Hai…Salla Land Reforms Laa Ne Ki Baatein Karr Raha Hai…”
Astala Vista…
Re: A critical look at the Pak economy
Why is Punjab paying so low taxes when yazdi comes and claims about Punjab having the biggest GDP, GNP etc.
Now you bring in california or new york but those states are also very highly populous compared to nevada or colorado which isn't the case with Sindh [Punjab being the most crowded]. I can only think one thing that there is tax evasion [ghabn] in the province especially when the province has increasingly urbanized and receives billions of pounds and dollars of money from punjabis settled abroad!
