Re: A Couple's Room
When one of my cousins got married recently, her in-laws decorated her room very perfectly,it looked so beautiful. They had those strings of red roses starting from the top of the bed and hanging all the way down to the floor, it looked a hut made from flowers, the bed wasn't visible from the outside because it was completely covered with flowers. They also had this single bud of rose attached to the walls after like every 2 or 3 inches. The floor was completely red too with rose petals.
It looked beautiful. The bed covers and the curtains were in a beige and maroon combination.
Re: A Couple's Room
...and I thought its always the guy's close friends who decorate the bedroom or atleast in my family, I have seen guys decorating the bride and groom's room and I must say its always better than the jobs done by the grls. Grls just pay attention to their own lehnghas, jewellery and blah blah but guys actually put an effort to make the room look neat, clean, and romantic.
oh I went to my friend's house last year and her brother had recently got married..his rooom was decorated with rose petals and scented candles and even after two weeks of wedding the room smelled heavenly.
Re: A Couple's Room
Are you in pakistan or forign?
I've only decorated in America (pakistan you can pay someone and they get tons and tons of those floor to ceiling flowers which is nice
)
In america-tons of white candles, tea lights, floating, andothers. Getting the same color gives it consistency and looks really pretty. Get some wine glasses from hotel, different sizes if possible, put in the floating candles, the water an glasses makes everything glisten.
Really use your imagination, the candles look gorgeous and the rest is personality of the couple. We did in Belize for a friend and we used hte hotel's fresh flowers and leaves for the candles to melt on. In the US we had a canadian marrying an american so in the corner we put thier food and drinks we also we got stars and stripes and canadian maple leaf items...
Re: A Couple’s Room
Gemi…yes guys do that usually…n I’m not gonna do it all by myself…I’ll order any guys available to do it for me …but the way I want it
You see the joys of being iklotee bahu (well…not anymore after this wedding)
amelie…the wedding will be in pak…n I hope to get some real nice flowers there…as for candles i’ll buy in next few days
naina…a whole hut of flowers…??? yes it might look pretty but I’ll prefer to keep it not that heavy. hmmm…so its the roses (single buds) sticking on wall ‘in’ these days
hmmmm…i really can’t wait to be there …lets see how it goes:)
Re: A Couple's Room
A lot of candles!
Re: A Couple’s Room
a few strings of yellow flowers on the bed, on the door and wall are elegant enough :k:
Re: A Couple’s Room
oooooooooo sounds amazing ![]()
Re: A Couple's Room
Flowers are really 'in' these days... lots of flowers... in vases... at different corners... floating candles... really pretty bed linen... rugs... and you could decorate roof with garlands and motiya ki larriyan but i dont think if motiya are in season these days... they smell heavenly though....you could always decorate the door with flowers ki larriyan .... just be creative with flowers... :-)
i wont advise you to stick flowers on walls though.. cus a day later they wither and look horrible... and its a pain to remove them all too... but then its just my opinion.
Re: A Couple's Room
When my bro-in-law got married, my sis-in-law and I were in charge of decorating their apartment. We had real rose petals scattered throughout their room. We also had a few simple arangements on the dresser and night tables. In the washroom we had white petals and white candles everywhere. Also, we had a gift basket filled with treats. <-- This is great because if the couple didn't eat anything, or most likely the bride, during the reception, it's nice to have nuts, chocolate, and some beverages available.
Re: A Couple's Room
about treat basket....great idea hinna:)
Re: A Couple’s Room
Go check with Dulha/Dulhan 2b. Its their wedding, they should be in control of how their room looks like. In case they leave it to you (which i doubt they will do wholeheartedly):
get a nice bedding set (Hetch has BEDROOM IN A BAG on sale for 200$ only… that will take care of everything from pillow case to curtains in the room)
get a pretty flower arragement for dressing
get some good perfumed candles (be cheap, get heart shaped ones) from good store (BATH AND BODY WORKS is a nice place to look for)
Get some shower gel, message oil/lotion etc
(normally stores like BATH BODY WORKS has “bride/groom kits” available)
Get rose patels and make a patel bed from door to bed (make sure you cover the carpet with some old cloth to avoid the stains)
Once you are done with all that, keep the room closed/locked to avoid all aunties roaming in the room and walking on those patels
