A chance to meet prime minister of pak..

I was recently invited to meet Mr. Jamali for a private tea party held at his suite in Manhattan.

The get together was arranged by Old Gallians (Mr. Jamali happens to be a graduate of Lawrence College and thus an Old Gallian, so am I). I respectfuly declined for one simple reason: What the hell am I going to talk about? I got zip.

If you had a chance to meet him, what would you ask or talk about?
It’s not like you’re going to high five him and say “whaz happenin yo?”
“How’s the government treating you?”

talk about any item of your interest that could be a national issue..education, investment, industrialization, corruption.

I had a chance to meety PM Jamali and Mr Shaukat Aziz a few weeks back, and I had a very pleasant conversation with them. I spent majority of the time talking to Mr. Aziz and topics included tax evasions, foriegn investments, the conversion of dollar accounts during nawaz regime etc. his career progression within Citibank, and some of my bosses who he knew at citi etc.

They would probably appreciate if you are not asking them teh same question that every run of the mill reporter likes.

ask him about his golfing if u want.

Ask him how is the msuic in NWFP. wait a mintue..there is no music..

u couldve taken a pikchar with him and framed it and hung it in ur drawing room wall :D:D

i once went to a person's place in pak whose member of family had attended school with the member of family of a US president and it was so pathetic, their drawing room wall was full of pics of them two together...

Have you ever sat in a bus/wagon in NWFP? Forget that. Have you ever BEEN to NWFP? Those people are crazy about their music. I know it because everytime I boarded a wagon to come back home from Abbottabad those hindko and pastho songs really irritated me.

Hmm poor Jamali..Junejo Mark 2, in the end right now there is only one real PM in Pakistan and he isn't the Prime Minister. Anyway, I'd have gone..Jamali isn't a bad sort, most people consider him a decent man who has little influence outside his own District...I'd probably ask him what would he really like done in his time as Prime Minister. Shaukat Aziz is more interesting, the man has come a long way, since his appointment. The Pakistani citibank crowd has done well in Pakistan, and contributed quite a bit, which goes to show you expats can make a difference in pakistan.

Anyway I'd ask Shaukat Aziz why hasn't he pushed forward developing power to the provinces in the form of taxation as a way of cutting duplication and over regulation at the federal level.

i'd ask what it is that i would have to do to get a chance to meet General Pervez Musharraf, cause he's an impressive personality and a high achiever.
I'd like to meet Shaukat Aziz and Humayun Akhtar and talk to them about their careers. Imran Khan about leaving the glamor behind and taking up public service.
