Re: A boring public service thread about smoking. skull & bones
nonsmoker here
**- What do non-smokers want to say to smokers ?
**nothing with respect to quitting, most people are smart enough to know it is bad for their health and do it anyways; I would, however, like to say …please do not smoke around me…it’s your choice to smoke and disregard your health don’t force that choice on me by smoking near me or in my space …thank you
**- What do you think of smokers ?
**i might have an opinion of any individual whether they are smokers or non-smokers, but opinion hinges on a person’s “ikhlaak”, rather than their smoking habits
**- Do you hate them and curse them for polluting your breathing space ?
**hate and curse are too strong of words. I do dislike if my breathing space is being polluted by a smoker but I don’t hate or curse anyone for it…thankfully we don’t have smokers in our house.
- Does it take away from the charm of an otherwise sparkling personality ?
To be honest, I’ve never thought about it
**
-Am I making too much out of this ?
**it’s your right to make as much of it as you want
**-Should we just let them be and stop harassing them ?
**I really think it’s a personal choice, so long as it is not affecting you directly leave it alone …no one is going to quit just because you got on your soap box and lectured them on the damage they are causing to the atmosphere and to their health. Stop them, if they smoke around you…otherwise I think leaving them alone is probably best
**-Isn’t smoking forbidden in our religion just like alcohol ?
**i think not exactly directly …though anything addicting is undesirable …but that could even be chocolate if you are addicted to it
