What do non-smokers want to say to smokers ?

1. Smokers, please quit. This addiction of yours is more expensive than it seems. And it affects us all in the form of sky high insurance premiums.

2) Most of the are pretty cool. They’ll stay away from you when smoking, showing respect for your distaste towards their best bud(the cigarette).

3. I used to. Back in High School I was too scared I’d pick up the habit, so avoided smokers. But after getting into college I became more tolerant of smokers and their smoking. Mainly because people smoked more openly and weren’t so secretive about this habit of theirs.

   Besides smoking is up there with drinking when it comes to socializing. You just have to get over your fear of second hand smoking, and just go join the smoking circle.

**Does it take away from the charm of an otherwise sparkling personality ?

4) Hmm. This one is tough. I don’t think I have a clear answer for this one right now.

No, you are not. Smoking carries a serious health risk. Even second hand smoking. However, you have to make compromises in life.

**Should we just let them be and stop harassing them ?

**I usually don’t harass people for smoking. First off if somebody thinks I have too strong an opinion about their habit, they’re gonna go on the defensive. I don’t want that. I want them to keep their guard down, if I want to get anywhere with convincing them to quit. I think joking about it, trying to find out if they plan on quitting should be the first step.

If the person wants to quit, then your job gets a lot easier. If not, then you have to devise a strategy to convince them. Learn more about them, try to figure out what might convince them to quit.

**Isn’t smoking forbidden in our religion just like alcohol ?

I don’t think it’s forbidden as clearly as alcohol is. That is kinda surprising. Did Arabs not smoke tobacco back then?
