Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
where?
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
why are you guys blaming sehwag for his captaincy?
yeah its his fault all the batsmen lost their wickets..cmon you guys only know how to stomp on a fallen man
we'll see his captaincy when he takes the field...and then im sure you will blame him for something then
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
great innings by dhoni, congrats on getting his 7th fifty
i dont see anyone here complimenting sehwag for sending dhoni in as an opener
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
^Nobody is blaming Sehwag for his captaincy...only the selectors for making him the captain.
Please explain to me what kind of "captaincy material" you find in Sehwag ?
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur

Actually, if you ask me, it was a stupid decision to send both Sehwag and Dhoni as openers.

Please read the posts right above you, yes in this very page, scroll up, thank you
What material i see? Well my whole point is that he hasnt been given a chance yet to show his captaincy, and people are all over him, and btw i dont expect him to provide any wonders
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
Well it wasnt stupid after all...
I was expecting the new guy uttapa to come in. But if he didnt make the squad, then i think it was a good decision to send Dhoni at the top where swing isnt a huge issue
Anyways he performed well at the top, but people over here wont acknowledge that...lets just find the bad in sehwag and blame him for our losses. im sure he had total control over those decisions...
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
^ I still dont see the posts you referred to...but I will take your word for it.
btw, I feel proud of Powar's batting today...since I have so many times asked for his inclusion in the one-day side in the past.
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
Powar hit a six in blackwells over
Now hoggard goes for 1,4,3W,0,6,1,0
Hoggard not doing too well in the shorter form of the game

there is some common sense required when you choose a batting line up and captain is surely hold accountable for that!
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
yeah hes a great all-rounder, if kaif doesnt perform, he definately can take his place
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
Dekho bhai saab....just because Dhoni scores a fifty does not mean it was a smart decision (tomorrow he can very well score a duck).
Just that you don't send two of your best sloggers right at the top ...leaving the team with no fire-power down the order (also, Irfan is not playing today)
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
I took a look at it again, seems fine to me, if Dravid made the line up i dont figure it would be too much different, but if you feel so strongly about it
when Dravid shuffles the batting line-up and puts players in different position and they do well, its a great decision and shows Indias versatility and how they can bat in any order, but Sehwag was apparently wrong to employ that method...
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
are yar, this was my original post
"great innings by dhoni, congrats on getting his 7th fifty

i was talking about how easily people will blame sehwag when things go wrong, but not when things go well
Besides that, he is not an opener, you are right he wouldnt be asked to open all the time, but maybe they decided that after they saw the pitch, and were confident that he was capable of handling it, and it was a shock to see him open for me as it must have been for you
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
Hoggard not doing too well in the shorter form of the game
thats what he said during a intervire a few days back ... he preferes tests over ODIs. infact he knoWS he is useless in ODIs ,...
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
Some sort of Recovery to India after losing 5 wickets for 79 runs.
India 147/5 in 32 overs.
Batsman at crease
Dhoni: 71 (82)
Powar: 29 (55)
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
This Partnership must be slowly but surely killing the English spirits :D
India: 160/5 (34.0 Ovs) M Dhoni* 80(88) R Powar 32(61)
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
33.5 Solanki to Dhoni, SIX!!, comes down the track and slams is flat and with great power over mid wicket fence, typical Dhoni shot!
160/5 (34 OVERS)
Re: 6th ODI India vs England 12 April 2006 @ Jamshedpur
