I think if they use Ja Nawaz Ja would be more appropriate for the odinary people who do not know English!
and will have more impact, and not be ambigous like it is now.
I still think it is so funny crowds of Urdu and Panjabi people carrying English Slogans that can hve different meaning to different people!
Why not send a message that everyone understands!....
As I said, this slogan is not new and has a history in Pakistan. Even Ayub Khan faced it in the '60s. People perfectly understand what it means.
This is not designed for those who live in the west on a daily basis and are not familiar with cultural or political linguistic constructs of those living in the third world countries.
To us in the West who live here on a daily basis and are familiar with the slogan being used by Pakistani opposition **Go Nawaz Go!
it actually means "Shabash Nawaz Shabash**"
this slogan is used in sports Teams a Lot for the Home Team
Like n Washington State the University Football Team is called the Huskies!
and Husky Fans will shout **Go Huskies Go! to cheer on their favorite Team to win!
So I was surprised to hear it coming from Imrans Supporters shouting ....Go Nawaz Go**!
do they even realize what theya re saying?
In Pakistan there is a saying that applies in this situation
Kawa challa Hans ki chaal!
in Pakistan its always like this from go ayub go to go musharaf go to go zardari go and now go Nawaz go. the cross on Nawaz sharif pic is enough to tell wht is the slogan :)
