5 things to do on Laylatul Qadr

Re: 5 things to do on Laylatul Qadr

So valuable is the night of Qadr:

So valuable is Laylatul Qadr (The Night of Power) that the Quran devotes a special surah to it “Lailatul Qadr is better than a thousand months” [97:3]

Abu Huraira (RA) narrated that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever stands (in prayer) in Laylatul Qadr while nourishing his faith with self-evaluation, expecting reward from Allah, will have all of his previous sins forgiven.” (Bukhari and Muslim).

Not only does the worship of this one night surpass the value of 30,000 nights which is over 83 YEARS OF WORSHIP but an entire lifetime of sins wiped out in this unique and blessed night! Subhanallah!

There is no way we can afford to miss out on such a blessed night!

Re: 5 things to do on Laylatul Qadr

very well said. I was actually looking for some special ibadaat for the odd number nights. Thanks for sharing such a valuable info. Jazak Allahi Alalkhair.

Re: 5 things to do on Laylatul Qadr

Make quality Dua's not quantity:

It is not necessarily quantity or length of Dua that is important but it is the quality of one's Dua which really matters most. Quality in that one makes Dua to Allah like a slave and begger in humility and meekness asking of ones Lord and master most high and honoured whereas we are most low and insignificant.

We should concentrate and be mindful of Allah whilst doing Dua and does not let his mind wander. We should also try to imagine him in front of us and listening to make Dua for him. Also that we are most sincere whilst in Dua and it is far better if we cry out of meekness and humility and are most remorseful of our sins past and present and that we resolve never to repeat them again. We should cry for the salvation of ourselves and our parents and families and those of our families. We should cry like sincere beggers and slaves to the master of the Universe. We should cry for the state our Ummah is in and for our brothers and sisters being oppressed. But if we cannot cry then we should at least make our face like we are crying.

I also recommend that we make a Dua list right now so we can refer to it whilst in Dua so we do not forget what we must make Dua for. We should try to mix our worship so we do not feel tired or bored. Therefore we should devote much of the night to the Qur'an and make much Dhikr and Dua in between. We should also pray Tahajjud and make Dua after it and Dua is also readily accepted just before Fajr begins.

So let us make the best of tonight as we will NEVER get this Ramadan back again once it is gone!

ameen to all duas

Re: 5 things to do on Laylatul Qadr

The Majority of scholars believe Laylatul Qadr more likely to fall on the 27th Night

"Verily this month has come to you where there is a night better than a 1000 Months. Whosoever is deprived of it, is deprived of all good; and none is deprived of its good except a totally unfortunate person ”. (Ibn Majah)

"Whosoever stands up (in prayer) on the Night of Power out of faith & hopeful of reward, all his past sins will be forgiven." *(Targhib)
*

How unfortunate is the person who misses out on such a blessed night where on can gain over 83 years of worship reward which is more than an average lifetime and an entire lifetime of sins forgiven!
The Majority of scholars believe this night will fall on the 27th night of Ramadan. The night comes before the day so the night will be from Maghrib on the 26th day of Ramadan until Fajr.
So let us not miss out on worshipping Allah on this blessed night lest we be of the unfortunate ones who will be in utter regret for eternity!

Re: 5 things to do on Laylatul Qadr

**The final Hurdle

**We must do our utmost to worship Allah as much as possible during the remaining days and nights of Ramadan. What an opportunity we have been given to gain rewards of more than a persons average life and to gain an entire lifetime of forgiveness for our sins.

Therefore let us cry to Allah and beg of him for mercy and forgiveness. Let us ask of him to help and guide us and to enable us to become closer to him and to do everything to please him and refrain from anything which may anger and displease him.

Let us not waste any time as these seconds are way too precious to waste. We have an opportunity of changing our lives forever so we must make a firm commitment to Allah TONIGHT! That we will be firm and steadfast in ALL of our prayers and that we will try our utmost to do everything to please him and for him to detach our hearts from this dunya (world) so that we may work for the hereafter and work to please Allah in everything that we do. We will slip and fall but so what? We are created to slip and fall. That is why we repent and Allah loves those who repent sincerely with utter remorse and regret.

So my brothers and sisters we CANNOT wait to change tomorrow but the change MUST be TONGHT! Then after that we will see a change in our lives we never thought possible and we will have something to live for and focus on. We will have a true purpose and that will be ONLY to worship Allah and to please him as his pleasure in this life and the next is MUCH better than Paradise and everything it contains.

Re: 5 things to do on Laylatul Qadr

** Allah never tires giving**

We may tire asking of Allah but he will NEVER tire in accepting our Dua’s and fulfilling our needs and wants as long as it is best for us. Those Dua's that we think we're not accepted in this world then the reward for those will be reserved in the Hereafter and when we see the immense rewards that we accumulated from our constant Dua’s that we thought were not accepted then we would wish none of our Dua’s were accepted just so that we could gain even more abundant rewards for our Dua's in the Hereafter.

Allah is free from miserliness and get looks for excuses to give some let us ask and know that we may tire but he will NEVER tire from giving and out of his immense, incomprehensible majesty and generosity.

There is still time left in this blessed month so let us ask ask ask!!!

Re: 5 things to do on Laylatul Qadr

*Worship from Fajr until 20 Minutes after Sunrise: *

Annas (Ra) narrated that the Prophet (Sallallaahu `alayhi wa Sallam) said: “Whoever prays the Fajr prayer in congregation and then he remains sitting mentioning Allah until the sun rises, and then he prays two Rak’ahs, will receive the reward of one Hajj and one ‘Umrah, complete, complete, complete.” [At-Tirmithi with a good chain of narrators]

So remain seated after the Fajr prayer and engage in Dua, contemplation, recitation of Qur'an and in the glorification and remembrance of Allah until 20 minutes after sunrise and then get up and pray 2x2 raka'ah Salaatul Duha.

Subhanallah! Remaining seated after Fajr prayer and engaged in worship until 20 minutes after sunrise brings the rewards of a Hajj and Umrah. If that was not enough then the rewards are further increased during this blessed month. How generous is Allah!
