3rd test

Re: 3rd test

Stumps - Day 4 (with 9 overs to spare)

Younis 100* :k:

Pakistan trail by 147 runs with 8 wickets to go…

Re: 3rd test

Younis brings up his 100 by hitting a 4. Well Done. :k: :jhanda:

62.5
**Kaushal to Younis Khan, FOUR, that’s it! He is the first Test batsman in history to score five centuries in the fourth innings. Flighted on middle and leg, swept away powerfully. Great knock

Pakistan needs another 147 runs to win the test.**

Re: 3rd test

Partnership 217 runs, 56.0 overs, RR: 3.87 (Younis Khan 101, Shan Masood 106)

Pakistan require another 147 runs with 8 wickets remaining

Re: 3rd test

Very well played both Younis and Shan Masood. Younis becomes the first Pak batsman to amass 30 test hundreds :k:

Dream batting by these two

still anything can happen on a 5th day pitch. These two should just bat wisely and with the same calmness. do not leave the task to the rest after doing all the hard work yourselves

Fingers crossed can get the required runs tomorrow without too much drama

Re: 3rd test

Great batting display by Pakistan so far. Both Shan and Younis have wrestled the initiative back from SL and Pakistan should InshAllah win from here. What a tremendous victory that would be. :jhanda:

Pakistan 230/2

Re: 3rd test

I think Younis is also the quickest to 30 test hundreds, in just 101 tests

Re: 3rd test

cricinfo:

5.50 pm How bout that. A target of 377 would have been past most teams. But Pakistan with their unbelievable sparks in form are such a wonderful wild card. Misbah is down the stairs to meet his two record-breaking batsmen and pulls them into a big hug. Loads of pats on the back and handshakes in the dressing room. They sense history. Shan Masood for all his awkwardness with the ball coming back in or the ball seeking his nose, has gutsed it out. Brilliant maiden Test century. And what can you say about Younis Khan? Hasn't hit a fifty all series and then shows up like a million bucks when Pakistan needed him the most. Sri Lanka were a little flat, mostly because of Tharindu Kaushal looking pretty toothless despite the pitch affording a lot of turn. There was a tight leg-before call that didn't go their way. The umpiring's been a bit of a talking point this series. And amid it all, who can remember Imran Khan picking up five wickets in six overs with the new ball in the morning? That's the only test left for Pakistan tomorrow. To see off the new ball and then set their sights on pulling off their best chase in Test history

Re: 3rd test

Younis requires another 88 runs to overtake Miandads most test runs for Pakistan. :salute:

Re: 3rd test

Without his effort target could have been 450 plus!

Re: 3rd test

Pakistan first innings total was 215, this unbroken partnership is already 217. Only Pakistan can do such stuff.

Re: 3rd test

Younis’s 50 to 100 conversion rate is phenomenal i.e. more hundreds than 50s. very rarely do you see that in cricket. Bradman (29 hundreds, 13 fifties in 52 tests) was an exceptional case

Re: 3rd test

Still we must not take it easy despite the amazing fightback. New ball is due after 17 overs. Ideally need both (and Younis in particular) to be at the crease and target < 100 when new ball is taken.

Morning session tomorrow is the key. Younis is the key

Younis and Shan need to refocus as it is a new day. They must try and get as many runs as possible in the 17 overs remaining with this ball. If these two get out cheaply in the morning, Lanka will be back in the game. We know how fragile our batting is.

There is a reason why 350 plus has not been successfully chased many times in history

Re: 3rd test

Still a long way to go. Pakistan cant take it easy. If it rains or gets overcasted, th ball will swing both ways. And Pakistanis can get out within 50.
But well they have turned it into an interesting game atleast.

Re: 3rd test

I was in mosque and just thought that when i ll open cricinfo will get the news that Younis and Shaun still there and they were :halo:
