“Once they made 272 for three on the first day we knew we were on the back foot”, he said.
Re: 3rd Test , India vs England @ Mumbai
Sunil Gavaskar on ESPN was right on the money last night when he said the real sad thing about this tour will not be India's defeat but the fact that after the ODI's (which India will probably win comfortably), all the test failures will be forgotten.
It happend against Pakistan, lost the series, but all was forgiven after winning a few ODI's. It's about time the BCCI stops brushing these embarrassing defeats under the carpet. When the players know that time and again such pitiful performances can be covered up a couple of meaningless ODI's, then there will hardly be the commitment required to fight it out in tests.

^ That is what I said in another thread.
Re: 3rd Test , India vs England @ Mumbai
So what will happen India lose the ODI series. What will they do than to cover up the Test and ODI defeats?
I guess the victory of Indian Board President XI against England:hehe:
Re: 3rd Test , India vs England @ Mumbai
Test matches are boring and wasteful anyway. I can understand Gavaskar Vengsarkar types missing test matches ...where else can they hang around for 3 days and score 10 runs and still establish records
