Re: 3rd Test: England v India at Southampton
When the opener gets run out after a good start, you deserve to lose. When you don't sprint, don't stretch for the crease don't ground ur bat don't dive u deserve to lose.
It is the little fundamentals that get you. Sunil Gavaskar would always ground his bat. Have pointed this out a yr or two ago. What is with this nonchalance.

Actually this is basic principle to ground your bat by stretching your body. I liked to way Javed Miandad running between the wickets. Now a days we don't see cheeky singles.

Exactly. In the old days grounding the bat was natural. Nowadays I get confused why the batsmen have their bats hanging in the air. The bat crosses the plane of the crease and then comes down. Bad habit.
Yes Miandad put a price on his wicket. Never threw it away.

Asians players now a days concentrating on boundaries and rarely running for singles or twos, on other hands Aussies took singles, 2's even 3 runs

You are correct. I wanted to correct my post. What i stated only applied to indian batsmen. (Haven't seen enough of other Asians to judge)
The aussies and probably the English do the little things better.
