that’s what i was talking about earlier. Afridi is a risk taker, which makes him suitable for coming down the order. That way, if he fires, it’s a bonus, and more often than not, Pakistan will go on to win. If he misses, it doesn’t put us under pressure or creates the illusion of a collapse as it is so late in the innings.
However, up the order, when he fails, we have to battle pressure for the remaining 40+ overs. In my view, this was the biggest contributor to our 2001-2004 era batting collapses.
Woolmer, Inzi and Afridi finally realized that he was better playign down the order, but then we had people like (i forget that guppie’s name now) demanding that he be sent up the order again.
It might not have been a good decision, but you don’t know what discussions might have led to that decision. Easy on calling names so early in the match.

Yeah, I dunno why people wanted him up the batting order.
Yeah I can just imagine the discussion. Koi baat nahe kuch nahe hota, bus jaa ke thoray chokay chikay maar ke araam se bait jana. Baad main Gul aa gaye ga supersub aur fielding bhi nahe karni paray gi.
hey, dont say **** you Afridi. i'm angry at him but he's our APREEDEE after all. Zaalim, i agree with everything u've said so far. but you have to admit, his head is shaped like a potato
