3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies -- Pak won by 7 wickets

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

30 extras already given by windies....
17 from wide deliveries....

this is not the way to play a 35 over match....

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

who do u think will take the MoM award????

i think its clearly L Simmons....
Farhat made 58, but was not very convincing....
maybe he too cud be a cadidate....

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

:jhanda: Pak - WI 2-0 :jhanda:

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

A good and comprehensive victory by Pakistan. Well played.

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

Congrats to the Men in Green :jhanda:

The Windies outfielding and catching was very poor today. I mean 30 extras in a low-scoring match is just too many.

While Yousuf looked quite composed and in control at the crease Malik was unconvincing at times esp. against Colly

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

Rana Naveed gets the MoM

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

Navel-ul-Hasan is declared the MoM... :)

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

I think they got it right. Rana turned the match with twin dismissals of Gayle and Lara

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

Yes, great decision.

Ranaaaa rocks. 'Mujhe lag raha tha maar hee day ga’ - Him on Gayle’s batting. :omg:

Inzi was great as always. :hehe:

:hula:

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

:) Good Win for Pakistan.
Imran Farhat made 58 but wasnt looking so good, even Hafeez played better shots. Kamran Akmal... is he going to adopt Afridi Style without long sixes ? :)
I feel Razaq or Malik is better choice for one down, 2 down Younis, 3 down Yousaf and 4 down Inzamam. and if its not very high scoring game, or batting first, then keep it simple and ask Younis to go one down, Yousaf 2 down and Inzi 3 down...

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

No Younis, Yousuf and Inzi should continue to bat at 3,4 and 5 for the simple reason that your best batsmen should play the max. no. of overs. Have you already forgotten the second match in Dubai against India in April 2006. Inzi was 70 odd not out but Pakistan lost mainly because he ran out of partners. Malik simply does not have the technique to survive against the likes of Pollock and Ntini in seaming/swinging conditions neither does Farhat. Malik usu. flourishes on sub-continental pitches. So in the event of a top order collapse, Younis Khan is the best person to stem the rot. I would even try Faisal Iqbal or Asim Kamal at 6 and play a specialist spinner (Abdur Rehman)

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

*Yes, Inzi clearly rocks. *

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

:jhanda: good clean win by Pakistan…
excellent livestreaming link from Kamal…

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

Congratulations to all Pak cricket fans and guppies for :mash: another victory :k:

The incident of lights going out was just terrible, :alhamd: I slept it out

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

Ramiz's comments have started to p*s me off really...
he referred to MoYo as Maulana yusuf... and that when he is commenting with Manja-raker dud....
what the *

Power failure leaves PCB in the dark
http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/pakistan/content/current/story/272130.html
The Pakistan board will conduct a thorough inquiry over the sudden failure of one of the six transformers at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, which disrupted over an hour’s play in the third one-dayer between Pakistan and the West Indies.
Play remained suspended for 66 minutes as the floodlights went off following the failure of the transformer at about 1.15 pm. The murky conditions had forced the umpires to ask for the floodlights to be switched on at 12.15 pm but the sudden breakdown of power stopped play during the 47th over of the West Indies innings.
The crisis, and the fact that President Pervez Musharraf was expected to arrive, prompted the PCB officials to rush to the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) for help. WAPDA then installed its emergency generator which ensured the resumption of play at about 2:30 pm.
It was reported that the matter was going to be investigated in a meeting, to be chaired by the board’s chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf on Monday. All the concerned parties including Nespak and a multi-national electric company which installed the floodlights in 1995 were set to attend the meeting.
The PCB did issue a press statement later which said: “The floodlighting system of the Gaddafi Stadium has six poles each with its own transformers. The lights were operational during the practice sessions and till 1.15 pm on the match day. At 1.16 pm, transformer No. 3 developed an internal fault and disrupted the power supply ring connecting to all six transformers. After detecting the fault, the faulty transformer was isolated from the main ring and supply to tower No.3 was restored through generator. Main supply was restored at 3.45 pm and the play resumed at 4.15 pm.”
President Musharraf finally arrived at 4.30 pm after confirming that the match had resumed.

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

That's in poor taste although I misssed that. Manjrekar is also very annoying at times. Why is he so negative about Pakistani players and pitches? It's almost like he wants the other side to beat Pakistan. I felt the same during England's visit in 2005. His job as a neutral commentator is to stay impartial and if he can't do that then he's in the wrong profession IMO.

And what's his obsession with the pitches? All the time he's talking about how flat the pitches are. Well dude too bad. Pitches in India have always been tailor made for their own spinners which explains their dismal record abroad. Yes I know the pitches have n't been upto the mark in tests but they did produce results, besides it's not like pitches and grounds in India are better and seamer friendly. Has he already forgotten the spanking India got recently from SA? More is still to come I am pretty sure about that

Power failure to be probed

By Our Sports correspondent

LAHORE, Dec 10: A thorough inquiry will be conducted into the sudden power failure to one of the six electric poles at the Gaddafi Stadium during the third One-day International between Pakistan and West Indies on Sunday, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced here.

A PCB spokesman said that a meeting, to be chaired by board’s chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf, would be held on Monday at 9.00am to initiate the probe into the unfortunate incident. All the concerned parties including Nespak and a multi-national electric company which installed the floodlights in 1995 would attend the meeting, the spokesman said.

“Strong action will be taken against those found responsible for the negligence.”

Dawn

Strong action should be taken against those responsible abd hope there is no cover up in the inquiry.

Re: 3rd ODI - Lahore @ Gaddafi Pak vs W Indies

And the icing on the cake was when Manja-raker dud said at the end of his ramblings....."pitches need a rest" to which Raja jee replied...." pitches need rest...that is a first for me!!"

what duds...
And I thought he (Raja jee) said "Maulana Yousuf isrich these days..he can start his own bank....etc etc.."
Since I heard the comments live, I did not go back and verify it...
IT was when Yusuf had just arrived on the crease. If anyone can check...
