If I am not wrong there were Krisan Ghavri but i don’t know exactly he was a spinner or medium pacer but i think he was also famous. I love to read article on cricketers.

Re: 3rd ODI: England v Sri Lanka at Manchester, May 28, 2014
Karsan Ghavri was an all rounder. Left arm medium pace and lefty batsman. I think he started off playing for saurashtra and thent played for Bombay in Ranji. Bombay was a powerhouse of cricket those days. He also bowled left arm spin if I vaguely recall. He was a fighter. Not the most talented. But hard working.
Here was Bombay team of that era
Gavaskar
Parker (coincidentally NZ had an opener John Parker same time)
Wadekar
Dilip Sardesai
Ashok mankad
Sudhir Naik
Suru Nayak
Milind Rege
Engineer
Shivalkar
Abdul Ismail
Eknath solkar
Dilip Vengsarkar
Sandeep Patil
Karsan Ghavri
They were more powerful than Rest of India!
Re: 3rd ODI: England v Sri Lanka at Manchester, May 28, 2014
Aren't you missing Bishan Singh Bedi who was a nice spinner and I have remembered his one incidence when he declare the India 2nd inning in protest against the brutal bowling by West Indies.
Re: 3rd ODI: England v Sri Lanka at Manchester, May 28, 2014
The above team was Bombay Ranji Trophy team in that period. I simply wanted to state how strong they were. Ghavri had to play for Saurashtra make a name for himself. Only then he made it to Bombay team.
Bedi played for Delhi. Bedi used to toy with Dennis Amiss during MCC tour of India 1972 73. He was so generous he would give him practice. In 1974 during india tour of England Amiss slaughtered Bedi.
