By the time Jade reached, the fire was already under control. To her surprise the body of the victim was no where to be found. It was 1am early morning, Police and FBI were investigating at the scene. Jade went upstairs to look at the burnt room on the 43rd floor. Everything was burned except of that corner where she was sitting day and night next to the wall and on the floor. The security camera tapes were yet to be released. "Adam, you have to hear this! people are in shock as how come that corner is not burnt where Gen was sitting and the rest of the entire room was blown out!" said Jade. "Its 1.30am Jade, I am sitting next to Carolina, she appears to be tensed and so do I" said Adam. The clock struck 2am. "We were suppose to get married next month on the 19th." said Carolina in a low voice. "Adam, why are we suffering, what wrong did Jay did? He never ever hurt anyone, then why he had to die like this!!" said depressed Carolina. "Just to let you know, even if you have to go to the toilet I am going in with you." said Adam.
It was 2.15am. Ding Dong!! The door bell rang. "Who can that be at this time of the hour." said Adam. "JADE!!!" said Adam in a shocking tone. "You look tired. Are you feeling alright?" asked Adam to Jade. "The lifts were not working, we went on the 43rd floor from the ground floor, what do you expect!!" said Jade. "Come on in, I will get you something to drink." said Adam. It was 2.30am and all three were discussing what had happened today and has been happening in past couple of days. "Carolina, do you have any of Jay's clothes or anything from him kept with you." asked Jade. "Well! Yes a lot of stuff. Why are you asking." said concerned Carolina. "Just like that. No special reason." said Jade. The time was coming close and Adam was getting worried continuously looking at Carolina. "I will not let you go. Enough is enough." said Adam. "Well guys, I need to go to the toilet." said Carolina. "Its 2.45am, you are not going anywhere." said Adam in a grave voice. "No problem Adam, I will go to the toilet with her." said Jade. "Well! I trust you Jade. I will be waiting here. But hey!!! be quick you girls." said Adam
It was 2.50am, Adam could here the girls talking inside. He smiled and then looked at his wrist watch, the clock was ticking. 2.55am!! "Jade, Carolina are you girls alright?" said curious Adam. Adam went close to the toilet door and put his head next to the door to hear more clearly. There was utter silence inside and within the apartment. "Jade, can you hear me. Open the god damn door NOW!!" shouted Adam. The clock struck 3am. Adam was looking at his watch at that time, to his surprise his wrist watch stopped at exact 3am. The seconds needles were not moving as well. Adam started banging at the door and pushing it hard so it breaks open. Ding Dong!! the door bell rang. "What the ****" Adam sighed. He went to the door and peeped through the eye hole. "It cant be" said shocked Adam. "Sorry I am very late but my car had a flat tyre. At this time of the hour there were are only few cars on the road." said JADE!!! Adam literally fell and sat on the floor. "Its too late now, shes gone!!" said Adam in a very low voice.
Jade rushed inside the apartment, looked everywhere and couldn't find Carolina. At last she reached at the toilet door. She turned the knob and the door was open. "Adam, Adam!!" Shouted Jade. Adam came running and saw Carolina sitting in the same corner of the toilet like the before victims and was STILL ALIVE!!!! Adam and Jade both picked up Carolina and took her into her bedroom. It was 3.20am. "Carolina, I want to know what happened inside. Please you have to speak!!" cried out loud Adam. Carolina was all wet and was shivering. Her eyes were low and she was same like Gen could not talk at all. What Jade and Adam noticed was that her hair was cut as well and her 2 fingers of her right hand were not there as she was bleeding wide open. Jade immediately got up, went to the living room and called the Paramedics. The medics arrived after 15 minutes. Carolina was taken to the State Hospital, where she was under emergency treatment and under continuous watch. "Shawn, you would not believe this, but Carolina is still alive." said Adam on the phone at 5am in the morning with Shawn.
Adam and Jade were very exhausted and hungry as well. Both went for a quick breakfast and called in Shawn too. It was 7am now and Carolina was shifted in the main ward. "I need to have some desperate sleep." said Adam. "Jade, if you dont mind. I need to ozze off for some time. Its 7.20am, I am going to my apartment to take some rest, I think you better should do that as well!!" said Adam. "Alright! Carolina will be under full protection and in safe hands, now that she is in the hospital." said Jade. "Shawn, do me a favor. Can you go and visit Carolina and update me on her condition say around 12 till I wake up!" said Adam. "Sure, no problem" said Shawn. Adam left the hospital and came to his apartment. He directly went to the bed and fell asleep.
"Adam wake up, Adam, come on now, wake up.. its 1pm." Said a voice. "Hey Shawn, how did you get inside my bedroom?" asked sleepy Adam. "I think you forgot to look the door. thats how." said Shawn. "Jade has something to show you in Carolina's apartment. Come lets go." said Shawn. Both arrive about 1.40pm in the afternoon at the apartment. "Hi Jade, how are feeling now. Did you had some rest!" asked Adam. "Well! may be half hour only and that was also in my car as we are now shifting to our head office in the main avenue." said Jade. They walked inside to Carolina's bedroom. All three noticed that the wall clock and the alarm clock on the bed side table were stopped at 3. Adam looked at his wrist watch which was now properly functioning showing the right time. Jade sat on the floor next to the bed and saw 2 human fingers on the floor, appearing underneath the bed. "That must be Carolina's" said Adam having that weird feeling after looking at them. "Why has the Police or the investigation guys left it here." asked Adam. "They never were here, in the first place." said Jade. Jade got up and sat on the bed and lifted one of the pillows. "Sh**! thats blood underneath that pillow." shouted Shawn. "Yes it is" said Jade. "Boys, the blood and the fingers were never there. When i came in about 12 I saw them. Our boys made a video tape of the entire apartment at 10.30 but without the blood underneath and no fingers!!" said Jade in a curious tone.
"Hi Jade, Its Brandon here. We have got the video reel from Miss Sebastian's room before it caught fire." said a voice on the phone!!
