Re: 3 year old not talking
Thanks for the reassurance guys I keep hearing that she will talk but it’s the mother in me that’s just being impatient.
She is my first born and we don’t have any family/friends with kids her age either. I do make an effort to take her on play dates so she can interact with other kids but that only happens once or twice a week. We incorporated everything the speech therapist suggested but at times her and I both get frustrated when I can’t understand what she wants.
Afia did your son start talking on his own or did you also see a therapist?
We are actually paying for a private therapist because we can’t make time for the ones offered by the community since they are only available during working hours on weekdays which doesn’t work for us due to our working schedules. Its getting a bit expensive for us now and now we are on the fence whether to just suck it up and continue or stop the therapy and work with her the way the therapist does - suggestions??
R2R, my son didn’t see any speech therapist, neither I’d his doctor recommended. He just started on his own. I see it more encouraging fir you that your daughter is at least talking a few words if not complete sentences yet. My son started his 2-3 words at the age of four!
