Looking closer at the picture, I’m now realizing that its not really a saree…what we’re seeing is actually the dupatta of a lehenga outfit. One end of the dupatta is pleated and pinned on her shoulder like a saree…the rest wraps around her with the other end tucked into her skirt. You can actually see the border of the other end of the dupatta at the bottom of the picture, hanging from where she has it tucked it.

I’m not really that impressed anymore.

I got the first two made and they turned out almost exactly the same but to me, mine are better. =)…I really wanted the third one too but my mom didn’t have enough time or couldn’y find that type of material. :frowning:

If she’s going to karachi…tell her to check out Gulf market…The kaam walas there are makin exact copies of these designs…

I’m talking about this:

The border wouldn’t hang straight down from the skirt like that in a real saree. It’s just a dupatta tucked into a skirt and wrapped around like a saree aanchal.

I got this one made and of course it didn’t turn out as I wanted.. I lost interest in getting more done!!

So wanted it but I knew the justice won;t be done so didn;t even bother..

again, Iknew it will not turn out as I want so ..

Besides these three, I have always luved this one!!!

I dunno if it’s just me but I have had really bad experiences with kam wale kapre in Pakistan.. the ones I ordered in Peshawar.. total waste of money, they parcelled it to me.. used the low quality kapra, kaam was bad.. I had no one in Peshawar to get back to them so I just told them off on phone and never got those two stitched!!!

The ones at mohsin sons in Rawalpindi.. their silai was terrible.. they messed up one of the outfits so bad that there was no way of fixing it!!

I have a few kam wale kapre now that I havent worn neither do I plan to wear them just because they have been ruined by the karegar/darzi!!

AWWWW! hun i know how u feel. i've just stopped getting outfits from scratch and rely on ready-made. so much less hassle :(

I guess it's the sitting posture that is giving you that look!!! you haven't seen the tight fitting.. I was surprised, shocked, amazed in pakistan how much fitting girls/aunties were wearing!! I had no idea about zips/pleats(sp?) but yara they work as a charm for nice fitting. :D

ps: Once I got to know about it, I had to have it on all my dresses yep even the cotton suits. :D

I HAVE had the tight fitting, ti's when the darzi's an asshole and makes it tighter than its sposed to be! BOOBS ARE NOT SPOSED TO BE FLATTENED. Kis bewakoof banday ne aisa style banaya hai. (it has to be a banda, i dont think women can be that stupid)
