If Karachiites are disillusioned with the federal government then they should direct their ire against the stake holders, the so-called liberal parties MQM, PPP & ANP (who should know more about the city than people like NS or IK) who have (mis)governed the province for the best part of the past four decades and who have also been in power at the centre at one point or another.
I do not think there’s such a big disconnect between the centre and Karachi. Karachi is a thriving yet unstable city because of all the gangs. Gangs create a culture of violence and criminality. Remove violence and crime & the city would be fine
My mother taught at PECHS Girls School in the 70s. There was peace back then. You could walk alone at 2am in the morning without any fear or concern for your safety
