Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

Ight thats stumps!

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

allright the lead is 273! and its end of the day!

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

Finally the pain is over

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

274 runs required to win this match

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

274 is a reachable target, given that it doesn't rain a lot and there are not many demons in the wicket because of moisture/overcast conditions.

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

First session will be very important for Pakistan if they go wihtout losing any wicket or 1 or 2 scoring 105 Runs then it will be good for them Else can’t say any thing :cobra:

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

knowing pakistan 274 is a tough target!

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

I think after Butt, Kamran Akmal/Umar Akmal's departure/left out this is a different team, I am sure these guys will fight it out to win.

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

Yes But they can't play defensive as they will be in trouble but NZ batting remembering me Pakistan batting line :D they collapse just like Pakistan :p

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

Yes :lajawab: At least they seriously try but that Kamran is back in team :frusty:

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

I am hoping hafeez plays this time...he hasn't been an effective opener througout this whole test series. younis khan def...looks in form though!

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

After a long time we are looking some consistency from Pakistan Top order :lajawab:
Now I hope Pakistani openers will do the trick. Hafeez scored only 1 run in 2 inning so now its his turn to play like genuine opener.

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

An interesting last day coming up. This test can go either way.

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

I think NewZealander Bowling attack armed with umpires is more lethal then Pakistan batting…

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

Umpiring :frusty: if it happens in Pakistan and Pakistani umpires do this then they demand to banned these umpires :aj:

from Crincinfo ..

With 273 to defend, New Zealand will begin as favourites on the last day, but Pakistan can take heart from the fact that seven years ago, they successfully chased the same target at this very ground. If they fall short, they will have their lacklustre start to the day to blame, a period when Brendon McCullum and Martin Guptill were allowed to dictate terms.

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

^ Yay!

inshaAllah we can do it again .. tomorrow should be a very interesting day.

Go Pak Go!! :hula:

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

InshaAllah

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

A draw is also a possibility

NZ HAVE to win, Pakistan don't

Pakistan 1-0 up in the series will I am sure opt for a safety first approach and reassess things at lunch

Umpiring remains the biggest worry though. 99% of the bad decisions have gone in NZ's favour in this series

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

The forecast is for heavy rain overnight and sunny weather on Wednesday so expect a delayed start to the final day
Wellington - BBC Weather?

274 looks distinctly achievable in 80 odd overs but Pakistan have long stopped playing attacking cricket. The morning session as always will be the most crucial period. If Pakistan lose too many wickets (say 3-4) then NZ (with the help of umpires) will be favourites to win and Pak batsmen w’d just go into their shells and try and bat out the remaining overs

Although the conditions were vastly different, Pakistan were in a not too dissimilar situation against SA in the two tests in UAE that preceded this series. SA do lack a quality spinner but their pace attack is far more incisive than NZ’s. So that experience should come in handy for our batters. We saw Hafeez turning the ball so Vettori could be dangerous with all his experience

Re: 2nd Test Pak vs NZ - Jan 15-19

Absolutely.....Misbah and management will for sure say, that go slow and try to draw, however if bowling is really loose then go for it and see if a win is possible.
And yes Kiwis are playing with 14 players.....
