Why not bring in someone more experienced like Younis Khan or maybe even Saleem Elahi(who i think is trash), just someone with more experience who will not fold.

yes sure, bring all the old horses back just because they performed sometime back in 1930, 1940 or 1990?

Only in Pakistan you would have an Imran Nazir opening in a test match and a Taufeeq Umer opening in a one day match.
As long as our cricket gurus are experimenting here, might as well, go with Afridi and Nazir opening pair. They can't do any worse than what Taufeeq Darpook Umer and Imran Nervous Farhat have achieved in the first test match.

aa gayeen Afridi ki chamchi :p
I would not drop but would give rest to the following players for the next 2 matches:
Shoaib Akhtar for Umar Gul
Moin Khan for Taufeeq Umar
Yousuf Youhana for Younis Khan
Danish Kaneria for Shahid Afridi
Imran Farhat for Imran Nazir
Asim Kamal for Abdul Razzaq
Shabbir Ahmed for Azhar Mehmood
All of the replacements can bat as well with the exception of Umar Gul considering the stronger Indian batting side... :)
shabash, tu cheeta aadmi hay, you can surely get a job in PCB :k:
He is going to rest Danesh Kaneria for Shahid Afridi!
Well done, mate! :k:
^^ I can win any match, any time, against any team and under any condition provided the PCB works on my terms... :)
Well, yeah... but first you have to know who is actually playing in the team, before you decide to rest them. Sadak pe se log pakar karr telling them you are not going to play... really, dude... it won't help.
Some how reminds me of Javed Miandad
![]()
The tactical genius in him and not a buk buk or blah blah...but the real winning stuff...I would for sure give a rest to the players who makes a 100 or takes 5 wickets... :)
We all talk about how often Pakistan teams just collapse. PCB in recent times hasn't been able to put together a stable team, a team that has played with each other for more then 1month.
Our counterparts India, Out of 11players probably 9 are fixtures. On our team, Yasir Hameed, Inzimam Ul Haq, Yousef Youhana, Abdul Razzaq and Shoaib Akhter are regulars, tour to tour. Rest is a revolving door.
Personally i don't think we can expect any stability until their is some chemistry and this team learns to play like a team.
THIS BAARI GUY IS AN @$$#0|_3
Didn’t we all say not to play Razzler and any ODI hitter but “SPECIALIST BATSMAN”. &%@&* never listen to their nation.
It happened, yep. We lost because of the weakest batting for test (guys like Farhat/Afridi/Nazir just don’t have patience which is required in Test) and a lack of specialist bowler. The person responsible for playing Razzler should be hang.
My take on it.
I would make only one change.Bring in Danish for Saqlain. Not that I think Danish will make any difference but he is the only other spin option.
Reading the post of other guppies...it sounds as if Asim Akmal is a good player. I have not seen him play so will take your words. But I think if Asim has to come ..He should not come at expense of Razzaq. Razzaq is the guy in form and you dont drop an in-form guy to bring other guy whom you are not sure about. If he fails people will have soem arguement as they did after taufeeq was brought in last ODI
If at all anyone should go to accommodate Asim then it should be Imran farhat.Drop him,Ask Yasir to open and play Asim in middle order.
Personally i don't think we can expect any stability until their is some chemistry and this team learns to play like a team.>
To speak the truth, no cricket teams in the world have a foundation with the exception of Australia.
Pakisan first need to build a strong cricketing/other games foundation where we can stand against all odds...that means back to the basics...and not giving stupid statements like Shoaib Akhtar is our trump card etc...its not a one man show...it must be a team work... :)
By the way. I should talk about my team too. :D
They should just bring in Ajit in place of injured Zaheer. I was surprised when Ajit was dropped from 1st test team. By far Ajit was India's best pace bowler in Australia.

Well...In subcontinant condition on one can make somethign as fast as WACA or GABBA.If they do I will be surprised.
Best they can do is a Mohali.
So No doubt one should bat !!!

Just sitck to formula. First session will be tough. For India batting is strength.Put lots of run and put Pakistani under pressure. That should be mantra. Pressure adds 2 extra player to yor team in big matches.
But then it is my opinion.
