Not sure if it is a wise decision to play an extra bowler at the expense of a bastman on what could be a lively pitch (by Indian standards). Also, Sehwag is a crappy batsman...who is mostly unreliable...so I will say ..India is going into this match 2 batsmen short...and that is way too risky. Lagta hai, Indian team mgmt did not want to hurt the emotions of either Laxman or Kaif...so dropped both.

Guess they are counting Irfan as a batsman and think that even if they play 5 bowlers they will still have 7 batsman. Not a wise decision considering Sehwag is out of form and Yuvraj is coming back from a injury. Sachin is also not in best form.
It might back fire if England wins toss and puts India in.
I read somewhere that Irfan,Munaf,Kumble & Harbhajan are certainty. They are comtemplating either RP or Piyush. If Piyush plays then India will playing 3 spinner. Sounds very stupid. Why not play Irfan,Munaf,RP,Kumble and Piyush. I dont like 2 Sardars in one game. Let it only be Panesar.

What did the extra batsmen do in the last match. India were at one stage 197/7. After that India was just struggling to stay afloat. . If India were to win they have to bat at the top. India deserve to loose if the top order expects that each time the lower order will bail them out. What requires is a bit of commitment and a bit of maturity..

That is precisely the reason we need strong batting lineup. Tails will not always bail us out everytime. Now with one less batsman India can be in more trouble. Fact is that Indian batsmen are out of form.

Good thing is that they have 2 wickets at Mohali. One green Top and one Bald. Lets see which one they pick for this game. :D
