2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

Brother, this is just luck if Shahid Afridi can perform well in the opening. How many times did he make century? Like 4 times? Fastest ones through his career. Meaning since 8 years he has only made 4 centuries and fastest ones. Look at his average 23.53. Even Irfan Pathan has more average than him. We need a consistent batsman like Shoaib Malik. I would prefer Faisal Iqbal with Shoaib Malik due to being consistent. Salman Butt and Imran Farhat are less consistent than those batsmen. Salman Butt only performs well with being in form while Imran Farhat plays risky shots.

^^I'm talking about what we have in the team at this moment...

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

England may declare today and allow Pakistan to bat for few tricky overs. They will be pretty confident of knocking over Farhat and the over rated Akmal.

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

No way England is going to declare, they know they only need to bat once in this game.....

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

Sami is back on - good chance for Bell to get another century and further increase the lead.

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

Wrong Afridi’s Test Average is 38.39 Link

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

I think they might declare after Ian Bell's wicket or century..... only if they really are looking for a result.

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

Harmison has become the sore for Pakistan, first in bowling and now in batting :hoonh:

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

2 fours in an over for Harmison bowled by Afridi.

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

partnership of 54 for the 9th wicket

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

Oye yaar...Sami can't even cleanup the tail...what a shame!

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

Yes this is an idea the Pakistan management may not have thought off and worth considering as they have tried different combinations and allow Kaneria to open.

He doesn't get much time to bat and this is ideal opprtunity for him to make a name for himself. He can't do any worse than Farhat in the 1st innings.

Re: 2nd Test, England vs Pakistan, 27th-31st July

no wicket for kaneria yet :( and that monty took 3 wickets on his own
